That story is very good :D

I don't remember anybody calling Rayman a hero before Mr Dark stole the Protoon.

The Magician had quite a lot of confidence in him, though.

The Magician was told to do that by his Higher-Ups.

The fisherman found Rayman part was from Rayman 2. When he was found in the world of Rayman 2. That explains that the creatures of the Rayman 2 world didn't know who Rayman was.

I think the fishermen found Rayman before the start of R1. After all, the R2 manuals that say that say that it didn't take Rayman long to convince everybody of his good intentions, and when he triumphed over Mr Dark there could be no doubt he was a great hero or something. So that proves the fishermen found him before he fought Mr Dark, and therefore before R1.

Mr. Dark wrote:But, to get back on topic, anyone know why Betilla wasn't anywhere to be seen while fighting Mr. Dark? Since he kidnapped her? (he shrunk her down and put her into a bottle, if I remember correctly.)
I guess he did shrink her and he magicaly put her in a transparent orb/sphere. Anyway, i didn't expect betilla to be involved in the final battle. :|

Is the intro that is at the start of the game only in the PSone version?
When I say intro I mean when the Magician explains the story to the player.
I know it isn't in the PC version.

Um... my PC version of the game contains the intro video =|
Its pretty annoying since it starts to play every time I load a save file.

On a list I read of the top 20 greatest game intros ever, the R1 intro was in there. Can't remember exactly what number it got though... :|

Yeah... the game may be old but it's a pretty good intro for a 2D game.

It's pretty clear for me, it explains that Mr. Dark has stolen the great protoon and captured the toons and that you got to free the toons and beat Mr. Dark.
