How do you rip resources and customize games

Hi,

This topic is dedicated to talking about how to rip sprites, textures and music from games. And how do you customize games.

Let me start, i would like to know how you guy's work on ripping music, sprites and textures and how you customize games. What software do you use, what where tutorial's that really helped you ? I would like to know because i would like to help in ripping resources from the Rayman games.

And then there is customizing games, with thanks to Drolpiraat i and many other know about cheat engine ([url=http:\\www.cheatengine.org]Click[/url]), which is great for customizing games, and it can be even used to rip loaded textures !

So, that's my opening post, i hope we'll have an interessting discussion about this, and i really hope that i can help you guys when i learned more about this subject .

I can say you how to do a mod of Icy Tower. Find tool called Allegro Grabber and open .dat files from data directory with password "gostflor". Nobody knows password for the Harold, however.

I have a question, i wan't to do some funny zooming in Rayman 2 PC Demo, and i already configured the DirectX mess, but when i selected Rayman2Demo.exe in the C:\UbiSoft folder. I get a message that say's "Press OK to start the game". I pressed OK and the game started, but i couldn't zoom in or out. Can anybody tell me how to do it ?

I know why Rayman 2 doesn't work, a part of it is using Glide.

Dude, that's just cruel. 'Alt+F4' is harmless fun, while 'format C:\' is evil.

In case you're tempted; don't try 'format C:\' because you're a boon if you do ffs!

I know why Rayman 2 doesn't work. It seem's that a part of Rayman 2 uses Glide. Rayman M, 3 and Raving Rabbids will work, because they are written in DirectX.

There are two versions of R2, at least on my CD. I have installed one that uses DX.
