All platforms, I believe.

I'd never seen the picture of Rayman on an illuminated fish before. :0

It's bizarre that they went on to release the party game on Xbox 360, but scrapped the PS3 version, even though the PS3's motion controls would have allowed for the Wii gameplay to transition over perfectly, plus the HD graphics...

Still though, it would have been shit. RRR1 GBA would be better.

Not perfectly - note there's no nunchuk-thingy for PS3. And SixAxiS works completely other way than Wii Remote, more like Wii MotionPlus.

And X360 version was very simple to program when having a PC version if it was coded entirely in C++.

The PS3 is backwards compatible with games for the PS2, is it not? Maybe they reckoned they didn't need to make a PS3-version if they made a PS2-version.

Some are, some aren't.

It depends on the model.

Mine is.

I forgot about how fucking ugly the Rabbids were back then, and perhaps their final look was the only good change.

I liked the ugly look. You want to get rid of ugly rabbids, not beautiful rabbids. XD
stan423321 wrote:And "Emily"... I think it was just a development name. Like "Vienna" for Windows Vista or "Venice" for Silver in Sonic '06.
I'd say this is the name they had originally planned for Rayman's girlfriend ( could've been changed in the development though ).

Also, about the "Rayman dies" cutscene, it could just be that they planned to do something like at the end of Rayman 2. ;)

And sadly, no, nothing that I mentioned here is currently rippable. I should post some of it on some ripping forums and see what people think there.

@Fat_Mario: Thanks for the screenshots! I didn't have the time to find them and put them all in my post. I'll have to say two things though: The Spider in the Temple area screenshot is actually The Spider in the Factory. :P
This and this is the temple area. ;)
Also, I don't think the area with the gigantic mushrooms is part of the Magic Forest. But the saucer in that picture is definitely the saucer I was thinking about. ^^

EDIT -> There is a ( huge ) possibility that Emillie is not Rayman's girlfriend, but one of the cinematic designers of RRR: Emilie Dugène ( look the name up on Google ).

EDIT 2 -> I don't think this text is in RRR, do you?
The Rayman Raving Rabbids files wrote:SO GET A MOVE ON. DESTROY THE BIG SAUCERS, BONEHEAD!!!
or
Other Rayman Raving Rabbids files wrote:VAS-Y, DETRUIS LES GROSSES SOUCOUPES, MORFLENOU!!!
EDIT 3 -> I wish the text inside the files was actually readable. It looks quite interesting... I can read some words, like "king" and "enough"... and "She". XD
EDIT 4 -> I'm thinking about something. If I could replace some of the minigame files with R4 prototype files, then rebuild the bf file ( with the help of the creator of the "unbf" program ), then emulate it with Dolphin, maybe I would be able to look at some of the prototype things? Just a thought though.

The ''SO GET A MOVE ON. DESTROY THE BIG SAUCERS, BONEHEAD!!!'' does appear in RRR, so it wasn't left out. When you finish a shooting mini-game, sometimes you get this ''tip''.

Ah, yeah, I was beginning to think so. It seems that a lot of the readable text is newer than the non-readable text. I don't remember the world "king" in RRR though... do you?

Good luck building the prototype. If you're successful it'll be awesome to see.

Damn, seeing all of this is great and its kinda, scratch that, completely insane that they scrapped all of this for the final project (which honestly doesn't hold up as well as the other two RRRs do gameplay wise)

Ancel mentioned in an interview that you could take control of rabbids by dancing for them in order to explore high security areas or burrows that Rayman couldn't get to. Thats what this is probably for.

Drolpiraat...I think I know how to rip the files.

There's an option in Dolphin called "View filesystem", which shows you all the files and folders in an ISO. You can rip the individual files (I think you might have to right-click on them or something). There's definitely something like that you can do, I did it with my non-working R3 ISO.

That's what I used, yeah. And then I used a tool called "unbf.exe" to extract everything from Rayman4.bf. That's where most of the data is. I have all the files, but I can't open them...

You could probably open them with Notepad! :P

It wouldn't be much good, but still...actually it wouldn't be much good at all. Yeah...

And there doesn't seem to be much in the *.wol files ( not only the *.wol files from the prototype, but also the ones from the final game ). It seems that they're just indicate what data to load.

Also, I'm going to try this with the PC version. Perhaps they ported the prototype files too?
It would be a lot easier to rebuild everything with the PC version.

Would they really have ported the prototype files? I know they were making all the versions simultaneously, but I think they just had the proto files in the game and didn't bother to take them out, as they were probably frantically preparing for the game's release, with testing and all that.

I have no idea, actually.

It seems that all the prototype files ( or even more, because the PC Rayman4.bf file is actually LARGER than the Wii one ) are ported to PC...
I've just extracted them from Rayman4.bf. Hopefully, I'll be able to rebuild the file. I'll ask the creator for a little help.

Also, I noticed something odd while testing RRR on my new PC... one of the drawings in Rayman's prison cell is a heart with "R+S" above it. That would probably mean that Emily is indeed NOT the name for Rayman's girlfriend.

EDIT -> And even if I succeed in getting the *.wol files replaced, the data itself is probably not there anymore.
I found one more file though: LaCabaneDansLaForetMagik.wol: A hut in the Magic Forest. :D
EDIT 2 -> I found this: sf_fuite_bb_globox.wad. This file contains the sound effects for... Escape of the baby Globoxes! :D
Too bad the *.wav file inside isn't playable...
EDIT 3 -> I found another special file! _basic_CINE_REW_Ptiz.wol.
Why is it special? Because there is "Ptiz" in the name, which obviously means "Ptizêtres". That's "Teensies" in English. ;)
Are there any Teensies in RRR? Nope, that's right.
EDIT 4 -> A whole text file! And perfectly readable! And lots of variables! It's a list of variables... WITH their descriptions! :D

Next new info! Cool, but I wasn't suprise about Teensies. They're in first trailer (not E3). "A hut in the Magic Forest"? Small house of Ly!

Oh this just gets more delicious as it goes along doesn't it? Did Ubi really think people weren't gonna look into these?
