I disagree that it's the religion itself that's making people do these things, just the fact that they are extremists when it comes to the religion.

Yeah, whenever you disagree with something anyway. I agree completely with neo's post. You used to be cool! Dx

I don't. I understand exactly what he's trying to say, and I completely agree.

So you think a gigantic mob of Arabs would have burned down the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Pakistan even if they hadn't been Muslims? :?
Of course religion makes people do bad stuff. Take suicide bombers. The only reason they strap on a bomb belt and willingly blow themselves up in a crowd of people is that they've been indoctrinated to believe that this act of "martyrdom" will teleport them straight to a special martyr's Heaven where they get 72 virgins for their enjoyment.

Liquid stupid - it's just funny. :?
You don't have a very complex sense of humour, do you?

~Do not answer that.

You think I am less cool now than I was previously?

~Disagreed. Disagreed 'to the max'.

Then can you tell me what he means by "a bad joke visually"?

Well, I don't ever previously recall you posting huge and tedious replies at every post you encounter that you don't agree with. :P

Long and tedious replies = win.

Posts I don't agree with = fail.

:?
This post is clearly a fucking joke, by the way. Don't try to give it a serious response or attempt to use its contents against me in any way.

According to the Jehovah's Witnesses, only 144,000 humans will go to heaven. That's why I always ask them why the hell they would want more people in their religion whenever they come to our house.

I do not try to be clever; therefore your point is invalid. Now, tell me what neo meant by "trying to be clever" (you said you "understood exactly what he's trying to say"?), and define the word "clown". And do not resort to crudely-edited pictures of clowns in your response.

Correct. You said that I "look like a clown every time I try to be clever". I do not "try to be clever"; therefore, your point is invalid.

If religion didn't exist such atrocities wouldn't happen but that doesn't mean religion is responsible. My knowledge of the Qu'ran and the Bible is quite scarce but I know that neither actively encourage such acts. There are many Christians and Muslims who support these credes for their true value.

Religion is like a gun: harmless on its own - it's what people choose to do with it.

It's misinterpretations of holy books - these can range from a statue of Moses with horns on it to mass murder.

There are many parts of the Bible which could not possibly be interpreted in an unharmful way.

No, you moron. My point? Emphasis on 'my'.

Arguing for the sake of argument just makes you look like a dick, spiral. Ask anyone here.
Xenon wrote: If religion didn't exist such atrocities wouldn't happen but that doesn't mean religion is responsible.
Yes it does. It's not solely responsible, but it is responsible. Whether religion is "responsible" or not is irrelant, because, as you pointed out, if it didn't exist these things wouldn't happen. I find this alone a more than good enough reason to criticise religion.

Now now, there's no need for personal insults.

~I found your emphasis to be ambiguous and unhelpful. Were you trying to suggest that you were arguing Neo's point, and therefore it was not your point at all...? You could have simply said whatever you were thinking.
Tobbe wrote:Arguing for the sake of argument just makes you look like a dick, spiral. Ask anyone here.
I do not argue "for the sake of argument"; I argue for the things which I believe in. In this case, I am arguing that the Catholic Church is corrupt, which I believe to be the case.

Religion is 'harmful' because it can be used as an excuse for most ridiculous things people do - ridiculous in a rationally thinking human's point of view that is.

I have my own religion.

My name is Will so I called it 'Willigion'.

It's a mix of Buddhism, Christianity and Pastafarianism.
