The guy who said he was going to burn a Qu’ran (or however you spell it) eventually backed down and didn’t burn it at all. I wish he did, just so I could see the fundamentalist Muslims’ reactions. They’re not exactly in a position to complain, since they’ve already killed thousands of us and destroyed some major landmarks, which makes burning a lousy book seem pretty mild by comparison. And it’s not as if no Muslim in history has ever burnt a Bible.
I don't see any problem with burning one to make a statement, however, it was a very stupid statement, because if they own the land (or at least have permission to do something with the land), they should be able to put a mosque on it if they damn well please.
After all, no one gives a rats ass if I build a shed on my own property, or if land is bought to build a Christian Baptist church somewhere.
