Why are there some any PC players on this forum? Consoles can be just as much fun!

Erm, why there are some console players around here? PCs can be just as much fun!

Ah, you meant ONLY?
For example, because of money. Contrary to matter of thinking of some people, PCs may end up being cheaper than consoles because some people would buy them anyway. There are lots of other matters, but it's not "console vs PC" topic.

I'll be getting it on PC as well. Really, the fact that it might get released on the Wii just shows once again how lamentable Ubisoft's marketing strategies are...

Fuck money! I will wander through the streets my whole life after I buy the upcoming E3 game and Wii U, but it's defenitely worth it!stan423321 wrote:Ah, you meant ONLY?

The PC is my main platform by default. It is the platform I'm more experienced as a gamer. I also play the consoles but these are secondary for me.

I'm sick of people who has something against Wii! EVERYBODY has something against Wii! Have you any problem with RO being released for Wii? Why does it bother you? Many people has Wii because it was innovative. And it shows that Wii is important wether you like it or notXenon wrote:I'll be getting it on PC as well. I don't have anything against the Wii, or all the consoles in general. One of the TOP reasons I don't have one is that it costs much, not that I can't afford it, and there's no room for one. I have a tiny TV that's practically inconvenient and unpleasant to connect the console on, my mother doesn't want one standing in the living room, and if I do buy one, I'd have to move my tiny 19inch TV and whatnot to one of my unstable planks to play it. Because right now, it's in a place where only the TV itself would fit.
edit: not to mention all the wiring that's involved in it. @_@
Re: Poll: which version of Rayman Origins you want?
Getting it for Ps3, myself. And hopefully Collector's Edition, if they actually start selling them in the rest of Europe too.
I used to be a PC gamer before, but I got tired of its unstability. Error codes, old games you bought with full price many years ago are suddenly rendered useless if you update your computer (partly because of all these anti-piracy programs that companies tuck in their game discs now), or new games suddenly aren't working on your older PC anymore. Console games are easy to pick up, you don't need to check those specs and wonder if your machine is still up to the task. You just buy it and play it.
Of course, graphically PC's are always superior, consoles outdate rather easily.

I think the console cycle is practically the same as a computer life cycle.
About the Wii, TeensieKing, whatever you are in agreement or not the Wii version won't feature high-definition graphics. And with the kind of graphics that RO was originally done, it is quite a pity avoiding to play the PS3 or the Xbox 360 version. I'm trying to do the sacrifice of getting an Xbox almost in purpose to be able to play the game in HD and getting the bonuses of the Collector's Edition.

@Tuli: man that's exactly why I don't play PC games as often as I do console games. Especially when they go too old for the latest OSs...
@ Spanex: The wii doesn't really take that much wiring, plus I believe wireless sensor bars exist.

My TV is smaller than 19 inches and I have a PS1, Xbox360 and SEGA MegaDriveII hooked up. The one thing that bothers me with games nowadays is that if they have letters in them, they're meant to be viewed on large screens, and you can tell, since you can't actually read any of them easily. I'm definately going for the Xbox version of the game - because I have three controllers and at least one friend who really wants to play the game with me. Space for one more to drop in and not forced to play alone if I don't want to. Simples!
Re: Poll: which version of Rayman Origins you want?
That brings Wii to the number 1 of my list. UNLESS Xbox has the same.Cairnie wrote: @ Spanex: The wii doesn't really take that much wiring, plus I believe wireless sensor bars exist.

I don't think any console is hard to wire these days, both Xbox/Ps3 need only power cord + HDMI or AV cable to attach it on your TV. And controllers are wireless, of course.

Re: Poll: which version of Rayman Origins you want?
Oh, yes, and in case you're wondering, you don't even need a scart cable - you can unplug the plugs and put them into your tv set separately, if your tv doesn't support scart. Also, you can use the HD plugs as opposed to the HDMI cable, though I don't know if it lacks in quality that way in comparisson to the HDMI cable (it probably does). Just remember that the green cable is the one in the set of HD cables, while the other set is for regular quality. Also, don't plug in all cables at once - my friend did that and, well, naturally, nothing special happened - it wasn't HD.Tricai wrote:I don't think any console is hard to wire these days, both Xbox/Ps3 need only power cord + HDMI or AV cable to attach it on your TV. From what I've been "studying" about the Xbox 360, you can optate to buy a wired controller or a wireless controller. Then for the wireless controller you can optate for normal batteries or to buy one with a charging pack, or the two things separated.

The PS3 one is wireless too plus it uses the power from the console to charge it up with a USB lead.

Re: Poll: which version of Rayman Origins you want?
No, you can no longer buy the wired controllers - they've gone out of sale. At least, that's what the runner of a games store here in Holland said.Haruka wrote:From what I've been "studying" about the Xbox 360, you can optate to buy a wired controller or a wireless controller. As for the charging gear, you have the following options:
-Remote with battery pack with AA batteries. Charged batteries may last up to weeks, but depends on battery.
-Remote with rechargable battery pack and charging station. Charged battery pack lasts about three days max.
-Remote with wire that will act as charger, has a USB output cable, but won't function as a device with which to control things on your computer. The charging cable allows you to play and charge your controller at the same time though and the wire detaches. It's a limited edition controller that can also make its D-PAD swivel around to form a PLUS-PAD, which is essentially nothing more than a 45 degrees flipped D-PAD.
PS
I have all three so I speak from experience.
