Re: Rayman Origins
Of course, but as I said: as long as it looks the same way as on my computer, I'm fine with it. Besides, I'm gonna get an XBox soon, so it really doesn't matter.spiraldoor wrote:No, the Wii version will look less blurry and more jagged. But good for you if you find that satisfactory.iambored2006 wrote:The Wii version ain't gonna look like that, no siree. It's gonna look way less blurry, and besides, if I can see the game on the Wii the same way I see it on the computer, I'm not complaining.
Dude, he's not "speaking like a sir" to sound less offensive. He speaks "like a sir" because, well, it's better. He never rages and his arguments make sense, and I think that's what's bugging you.sergiomonty wrote:Your life is not relevantsergiomonty wrote: so your observation is not relevant.
Nah, just kidding. No, but seriously, speaking "like a sir" doesn't help you, you are still kinda offensive, pal. Also, you're despicing the capabilities of the wii. What about Wario Land Shake it, for example? and Wario Ware Smooth Moves? come on, dude, wii is not THAT bad.
He doesn't despise the capabilities of the Wii. I don't know where the hell you got that idea. He simply states that HD consoles are better with HD and he's got a point. The Wii was a failure. It sucks, but it revolutionized the video game industry, just like the iPhone did with smartphones.

Re: Rayman Origins
I gotta say, I'm somewhat disappointed with the world map. The ones for R1 and R2 were way better. Also, it proves that Picture City isn't canceled! Count the islands and you'll see there are 6 of them, although the unidentified one could just as well be the tree house. Notice how every island has a creature on it somewhere, probably bosses. If that is so, then the boss of the jungle world is the daisy, the boss for the food world is a dragon, the boss for the sea world is a shrimp (I think...) and the boss of Band Land is some kind of bird. I love how they did the "I Dare You" challenges!
BTW, I gotta say something: this forum has inspired me to stop writing like a douche (especially you, spiral). Usually, I would've written "u" and "r" instead of "you" and "are". I also used to never use capitals or apostrophes. Thank you, PC!
Edit: of course that's Mr. Dark! And he's selling moonshine!!!

Re: Rayman Origins
I'm on my mobile so please excuse my crappy texting. I had another crack at it and it plays much better in 1 player mode that's for sure.
Re: Rayman Origins
Was hoping the world map would be similar to the first game. It's not particularly colorful, is it?
Ah well, still looks okay. We can't expect everything in this game to mirror the original.
Only major disappointment is the lack of exit signs. I've warmed to Rayman's new appearance, although I still think they should have designed him to look more like he does in the original game, seeing as this is supposed to be a prequel to that title. Otherwise, AWESOME!

Did you notice any slowdowns with more than 1 player? Shouldn't be any in a presentation, just asking.Cairnie wrote:I'm on my mobile so please excuse my crappy texting. I had another crack at it and it plays much better in 1 player mode that's for sure.

Re: Rayman Origins
Yes it will. Basic calculations are enough to see that there are five times as many pixels as in the native Wii resolution in full HD.iambored2006 wrote:The Wii version ain't gonna look like that, no siree.
As I said above, the difference will be huge. I'm not saying that the Wii version will be ugly (certainly not), but what's the point in criticising HD when the graphics are clearly one of the greatest attributes of the game?sergiomonty wrote:If the Wii version and the HD versions are equal, then I'll laught. Maybe there will be small quality differences, but that's not the big deal, it's like watching a youtube video without HD, you can see clearly everything and enjoy it.

No slowdowns or anything, just felt more difficult because you can slap each other. Won't be able to check out the new db until I get back tomorrow night methinks.

Re: Rayman Origins
Firstly, I meant it won't be as blurry. Secondly, we're always comparing to the best versions we have, but we can't even see them in HD! I mean, the Wii version will probably look like the best version we have of screenshots from the game, unless you're using HD screens.Hunchman801 wrote:Yes it will. I wrote in that manner when I was fourteen. Thankfully RaymanZone was completely destroyed, leaving no trace of my earliest, stupidest posts.iambored2006 wrote:BTW, I gotta say something: this forum has inspired me to stop writing like a douche (especially you, spiral). I would have hoped that any map included in Rayman Origins would be magnificent and elaborate, so it’s disappointing to learn that what should have been the centrepiece of the game will be no more than a literal map. At least it’s better than what Rayman 3 had to offer. In this picture, we can clearly see that the game features six worlds (not counting the presumably absent Land of the Dead), each of which contains two distinct environments. It’s a little confusing to see that the Glade of Dreams is now a cluster of islands – maybe this is the Archipelago or something?
On the top left, we have the music world, which contains two environments – one is cloudy and is emitting musical notes, and the other seems flatter and has a bird sitting on it. I hope the flat area is the Desert of Didgeridoos, and the other is an unrevealed area more similar to the Band Land featured in the first game.
On the left, we have the forest world, which as Rayman’s birthplace is probably the first level in the game. Not sure about the two environments.
The world on the bottom is hard to call from looks alone, but the map appears to depict Big Mamma, meaning that this must be Mystic Peak. From the glowing energy streams, we can see that the player has completed all five primary worlds except this one, indicating that it might be the last, which fits with what we know of Big Mamma. I wonder what the two mountain environments will be?
On the bottom right, we have the Sea of Serendipity, which consists of the seaside Globox village and some some sort of sandy, shrimpy underwater area.
On the top right, we obviously have the food world. Both the Infernal Kitchen and the Frosty Delights are clearly identifiable. I wonder if that dragon is the gigantic one whose stomach we enter? Perhaps the stomach level is part of the Infernal Kitchen?
Now, what the hell is that place in the middle? All the defeated bosses have energy streaming out of them towards it, so it must be the final level. It could be the Land of the Dead, but it certainly doesn’t look like it – I think the Land of the Dead will be ‘off’ the map, as it’s more of a dark mirror to the Glade of Dreams than a region of it. We can see a beach with a giant cog, some sort of giant pipe and a giant spiky semi-circle which I think I spotted in the fakirs’ areas. Could this be Picture City? The final world culminates in some sort of gigantic mountain shrouded in clouds. I have no idea.
