That is obviously Mystic Peak. The cogs are the same ones as in the first demo from E3 2011 (from the part we now know is in MP). There's a mountain, which further proves my claims. There's no doubt about this island being MP.spiraldoor wrote:Now, what the hell is that place in the middle? All the defeated bosses have energy streaming out of them towards it, so it must be the final level. It could be the Land of the Dead, but it certainly doesn’t look like it – I think the Land of the Dead will be ‘off’ the map, as it’s more of a dark mirror to the Glade of Dreams than a region of it. We can see a beach with a giant cog, some sort of giant pipe and a giant spiky semi-circle which I think I spotted in the fakirs’ areas. Could this be Picture City? The final world culminates in some sort of gigantic mountain shrouded in clouds. I have no idea.

Re: Rayman Origins
It’s kind of weird to think that Moody Clouds is the last level before the Land of the Dead, considering how early they revealed it. I guess that the environment immediately before Moody Clouds is some sort of non-cloudy steampunk level? Does this mean Picture City is definitely out? Ancel never said it was a full world – maybe it’s just a level in one of the other environments, or even some sort of bonus level?
I advise everyone to take a look at the background image – there’s loads of stuff that was obscured by the interactive items, including a look at the control scheme and several design documents detailing the game’s levels.

Wait, can you only move with the left analog stick and not the d-pad? I sure hope that isn't the case, that would feel really awkward.
Re: Rayman Origins
The music that's heard when you press the first pic reminds me of R3 funkyboard music, especially its end.

Re: Rayman Origins
I think Spiral's analysis of the world map is pretty good, except for the two “central” areas maybe. In my opinion, the one in the middle is actually the Mystic Peak, with Moody Clouds on top and the place with the stone men and the Globox monks below, while the bottom one may be the Land of the Dead, due to the presence of Big Mama. I'm really not sure about the latter though, is the LotD going to be a world per se or just a darker version of the Glade? In any case, this island looks like everything but Picture City I'm afraid, which I'm quite sad to admit.
I also hope this isn't going to be the final world map; not that it looks bad, but you just don't want to stare at it for hours, unlike the one from the first game.

Probably the person in charge of the Map 1-A Jungle level design; the Map 4-B Ocean reads “Remi”.Mr. Dark Thingamajig wrote:in the corner of the main bubble, the name Axel is writed, anyone know what it means

Fortuneatly I never wrote like that. I was hoping for a colourful map but this map is inside my please.
I'll be looking forward to learn more details. I see that I wasn't the only one to observe extra details in the background of the 9th DB.

Re: Rayman Origins
By the way, the disclosed level names (“Out of my way”, “Ups and downs”, “Shadow games”, “The beginning of the end”) are not great in my opinion, and refer to gameplay more than environments.

Re: Rayman Origins
If anyone was wondering, the Collector's Edition of Origins is now available on amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005 ... d_i=468294
The Price is £79.99, I hope it's cheaper elsewhere...

I hope it is a mistake because everywhere else, including French Amazon says the game will cost 64,99€. The currency convertion from British Pounds to Euro gave 91€.

Re: Rayman Origins
I don't know, it actually kinda makes sense to me. The areas are already named after the environments, and probably count as in-universe names, while the level names are meant to prepare the player for what's to come, while at the same time making it easier to remember which level is which (something that might otherwise be difficult with 66 of them). At least it's better than 'World 1-1', 'World 1-2' and so on.Hunchman801 wrote:By the way, the disclosed level names (“Out of my way”, “Ups and downs”, “Shadow games”, “The beginning of the end”) are not great in my opinion, and refer to gameplay more than environments.

Re: Rayman Origins
They sound almost like Rayman Designer level names. ‘The Beginning of the End’ is highly clichéd, but at least it’s poetic.
I expect the world map to look better in motion – considering the style of the game, it’s likely that all of the worlds will feature animations. The musical notes above Band Land will probably float through the air, the waves will move back and forth, the trees will sway in the breeze, the bosses will move idly. If you look closely at the first few seconds of the video, you’ll see that we get a glimpse of the forest world’s sub-map – it seems obvious in hindsight, but I think it’s worth pointing out. I suppose each of the twelve environments will have its own map in this way.

I do hope I can find it cheap somewhere or else I'm stuck with the normal edition.
Re: Rayman Origins
What's certain is that in French websites, Italian and Netherlands websites they all show up the same price: 65€, which is about 56£.
I'm sure it is a mistake from Amazon.co.uk.
