And who couldn't love the little critters? They're blue, they've got ponytails with which they can helicopter, they can jetspeed forwards and they have mouths that can grow out to become 3 times the original size. Imagine humans being capable of that!ikke471 wrote:ah you're a antitoon fan

I must say I've never ever seen any enemy like them in any way - and even if there are; THEY'RE COPIED FROM RAYMAN. That's the true fan's motto - everything that is not your game is wrong.

I think there is a limit to what you should keep unique and your own and what you should allow to be shared, otherwise games wouldn't go forward.
Look at the patent wars, all these revolutionary technologies that could easily be rolled into one awesome product, but companies duke it out and get each other's products banned in other countries.

I agree, but I don't see how it links to my statement... I said - or meant to say - that if something is proclaiming something when it is not part of the game franchise which you are a fan of, then it must be mistaken, because there is no way your franchise could possibly be wrong.Master4lyf1 wrote: I think there is a limit to what you should keep unique and your own and what you should allow to be shared, otherwise games wouldn't go forward.

You can clearly tell by my use of excessive exclusions in the above sentences that I was joking. But you are right, copyright and patenting can go very far.

Oh, right, but I still have a point don't I? Copyright is EVIL.Shrooblord wrote:I agree, but I don't see how it links to my statement... Re: Favourite Boss?
However, if you (I) want to ensure that no evil game companies (EA) take your story then copyright can be your friend.Master4lyf1 wrote:Copyright is EVIL.
Also, like a wise person once said:
"All record companies are evil, except the one that offers you a contract."

Copyrights are not evil per se, they are just ludicrously extended nowadays.

EA and regrettably UbiSoft are the kings of DRM, which is not good at all, considering SOME of the good titles they manage to make.
Thank god for Steam...

Re: Favourite Boss?
If we are already OT, could anyone tell me what's up with Batman AA on Steam? Am I forced to use Live if I want just single-player?
Re: Favourite Boss?
Oh don't say anything about it. I hate the computer number restrictions that SPORE has got, and the fact I need the CD of the expansion to be able to play the expansion itself.Master4lyf1 wrote:EA and regrettably UbiSoft are the kings of DRM, which is not good at all, considering SOME of the good titles they manage to make.

How many times I had to bother contacting the tecnical support due to the DRMs.

Re: Favourite Boss?
they should make a Rayman game with Mr. Dark, Razorbeard and André working together. that would be the best couple ever, the evil of Mr. Dark, the genius brain of André and the constructing powers of Razorbeard. HARDCORE!!!

Re: Favourite Boss?
Everyone who has played the games has thought of that. It’s not a very good idea; you wouldn’t be able to do any of those characters justice if each only had a third of the developers’ time and money allocated to them. If they want to bring back the real Mr Dark, that’s great. If they want to make a sequel where Razorbeard returns, that’s fine, as long as they make it different enough from Rayman 2 to justify its existence. I hope they never bring back André, as he was a rather grating and lame character (a black ball of fluff with an irritating voice and bad one-liners). If a future game ever features more than one of these characters, they should be competitors, not friends.
