Re: Rayman 1
Hm, you're right. Then I don't know what it could be.
Re: Rayman 1
Photobucket resizes the images if they're too big, so it's no use reuploading it there.spiraldoor wrote:Is it just me, or does the version of the image that I uploaded have a lower resolution and less compression artefacts? That’s really strange, as I didn’t edit the image in any way – the two should be identical.
Edit: I had the previous version cached, so here it is. Not sure what’s going on.

Definitely "Magician + Andrew" then.spiraldoor wrote:As I said, nobody signs their name like that. The ‘intial + inital’ format is used by couples, not individuals.Greenbottle3 wrote:Michel Ancel.Electoon wrote:i spotted 'M+A' etched into the brick on the bottom left...

Right, here’s the original: http://www.mediafire.com/?m44ajj0hejejsd6Drolpiraat wrote:Photobucket resizes the images if they're too big, so it's no use reuploading it there.
Re: Rayman 1
That is right. In Crash Tag Team Racing, Dan Roarty has hidden a message saying 'DR + NF' in one of the sceneries. The message could well mean Michel + someone.spiraldoor wrote:As I said, nobody signs their name like that. Re: Rayman 1
You did, in Rayman 2: The Great Escape's European Box Art. I also suspected the M+A was an abreviature of "Michel + Alexandra".spiraldoor wrote:I think I remember seeing the exact same message carved somewhere else, maybe in another game, but I’m not sure.

I was just about to suggest this!Haruka wrote: also suspected the M+A was an abreviature of "Michel + Alexandra".
I wish we could have more Rayman 1 art in this high quality. It's really amazing stuff, and it was great how much hidden detail we could find just from one piece of box art

The Rayman franchise, even with it's (soon to be rectified) lack of recent games, has quite a lot of hidden mysteries behind it.
I wonder what other things we may discover...

Wait, what discovery did we just make?Master4lyf1 wrote:...And how long it took for some of us to recognise it, though now that I think about it, I might have noticed the hidden stuff on my PS1 case as a child...Electoon wrote:I wish we could have more Rayman 1 art in this high quality. Two hidden pieces of artwork, within one grand piece.
Doesn't sound like much, but a discovery is a discovery.

It's like Inception. I don't see any M+A hidden in the image though.Master4lyf1 wrote:Two hidden pieces of artwork, within one grand piece.

It's not like Inception. It is Inception. Remember what you told me yesterday? You had the idea of planting your initials on a brick of a box cover art to plant ideas in the minds of other people to do the same thing, thus resulting in what we see here.
[Planted idea is planted.]
But that's really cool to see. Now, about the figure in the top-right - it's Mr. Dark alright; any reference images to suggest which image it is up there? Maybe the image of him on the wall of the Game Over screen... or maybe something else - there's some text around that picture too. Can anyone read what it sais?
Re: Rayman 1
The figure looks like something from Rayman 2, though I can't recall what it is.

Re: Rayman 1
They changed alot more than that, I can tell you straight, many sounds that were not included in the PC version were placed into the PS1 version.
Re: Rayman 1
I think the PC ting sound is rubbish. When we first got Rayman Gold (we had it on the PS1 first) we thought that the sound had glitched making them sound weird. This wasn't helped by the fact we had the Focus Interactive version, so there was no music. We thought something had gone wrong XD.
The PC sound sounds more like a 'tick' then a 'ting', and the PS1 sound is melodic and makes cool tunes.
Anyway, as the PC version was made before the PS1 one, and was the first version of Rayman that didn't use the Jaguar FM-y sounds, it's understandable that there are some differences

Re: Rayman 1
I think the idea was to make them sound like bubbles popping. But I agree, it was quite an ugly noise.Electoon wrote:I think the PC ting sound is rubbish.
