Re: Rayman Origins
That wasn't official news. That was just someone saying that it would be 2D since Michel Ancel seems to be obsessed with his new UbiArt framework, that's all. If I remember correctly, that is.
Re: Rayman Origins
From what I've seen of this game it looks pretty awesome. I like all the different character skins.
Although, my favourite characters from Rayman 1 are gone and I don't like what they did with Betilla's appearance! But still, the gameplay looks amazing.

Re: Rayman Origins
No. The Bubble Dreamer specifically identifies Rayman’s Globox skin as a costume, and informs Rayman (by name) that he does not pass for Globox. The script also mentions that the Teensies love dressing up in different disguises. I like the idea of playing as characters like [Tarayzan] and [Uglette], but if you apply that thinking to the entire range of skins it leads to ludicrous conclusions.sergiomonty wrote:I noticed something. When you unlock a "skin", it says "Check it out! New character unlocked in the Snoring Tree". So, yeah, they're character, not skins
Re: Rayman Origins
I'm currently figuring stuff out about the format. I know exactly how it stores the filenames and folder structure now.Mr. Dark Thingamajig wrote:how is it going with the .IPK files Droolie
There's some unknown data next to the filenames - probably references to where the different files are located in the archives and how large they are.
As soon as I find that, I think I'm ready to write a script to extract the files (that will be harder than anything I've ever done though).

Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah. I like the various skins. Looks like the number of Electoons needed raises massively between [Zombie Grand Minimus] and [Bad Rayman]. I'm pleased by the fact my favorite Blue Teensy Wizard is still there, not scrappedHunchman801 wrote:By the way, the walkthrough on YouTube has already reached the Angsty Abyss.
Re: Rayman Origins
Stiill, my only nitpick is that in my opinion, there are too much Teensy-styled skins. Then again, Rayman suppose to be a rare individual...

My nitpick is the USA gets it tomorrow while the rest of the world waits a week and a half >:(

So [Tarayzan] and [Uglette] will be playable skins? Maybe [The Musician] will be too!

Re: Rayman Origins
Actually, they're all characters. Some are the same character in different space-time situations, like for example Rayman disguised as globox, the bubble dreamer talks about (Voodoo Mama trying to find a cure to his Globox skin or something like that, sorry, I don't remember, but that may suggest that rayman's skin turned blue sometime ago), and Globox's red skin (refering to his past accident with the poison/the berries). I know that the teensies enjoy dressing up, but the existence of more teensies is not imposible. Also, there are some teensies that are slighly different from the others, like the female teensie, I checked her up...she has boobs...ugh...spiraldoor wrote:No. The Bubble Dreamer specifically identifies Rayman’s Globox skin as a costume, and informs Rayman (by name) that he does not pass for Globox. Since this game is no longer a prequel, I think that it is actually possible to play as Dark Rayman. Some of the characters, as you say, maybe are just skins, like the zombie suit, for example, but as I said before, pulling the Bubble Dreamer's beard is the only way to know the truth.

I'll only take off the counter day 26th November at night.iambored2006 wrote:
I had a dream last night- I dreamed that the counting banner in Haruka's sig disappears- that the game has been released. I then dreamed that my English teacher fails me on my book report because I couldn't do it. IT'S NOT MY FAULT I WAS SICK, WHY DOES HE HAVE TO GET INSIDE MY DREAMS?!
I'll keep visiting this thread (which is convenient since I'm a moderator) but it is probable that my activity level in the forum will be reduced a little, at least until I start my Xmas holidays.beebo44 wrote:I'm gonna avoid this thread for the next few weeks starting tomorrow. You with me, Haruka?
I only ask from tomorrow on, people who start to play the full game to talk about the in-game details themselves with invisible text for a matter of respect to people who don't want to get spoiled before the time.

Re: Rayman Origins
Since they're officially called "characters", is it spoiler-ish to create an article called "List of Playable Characters in rayman origins"? I don't know all of the characters, but I think I can put the 15 characters that we've seen during the whole bunch of trailers, what do you say, guys? and Hunch?

Re: Rayman Origins
Of course they’re all characters; my point is that most of them are likely to be no more than the four heroes in disguise. They couldn’t all be living individuals with their own personalities and histories. For example, you can play with regular Globox and red Globox at the same time – how could they possibly co-exist? And I don’t believe for a second that there’s a member of Rayman’s species who shares all of his powers and motivations, looks almost identical to him and enjoys dressing up as Globox. The problem with pulling the Bubble Dreamer’s beard is that he really doesn’t give us any answers; if he identifies a skin as a new character, it could simply be that he’s fooled by the disguise. I’ve read all of the skin descriptions – there’s nothing concrete in there.sergiomonty wrote:Actually, they're all characters. I think it would be better to make that a paragraph with bullet points in the Rayman Origins article.sergiomonty wrote:Since they're officially called "characters", is it spoiler-ish to create an article called "List of Playable Characters in rayman origins"? Dtoid has announced a thing that has something to do with people playing Origins, if anyone's interested. I think 4PM Pacific is around midnight for most of us though.

Re: Rayman Origins
I wonder if the golem boss is supposed to be Mr Stone. If you look closely at him, you’ll see that he’s essentially a gigantic version of the Origins stone men (the jutting, rampart-like lower jaws are almost identical), in much the same way that Mr Stone was a larger version of the original stone men.

Well it looks like no-one's posted the latest Daily Bubble yet, so I guess I'll be the first (even though I haven't had the chance to look at it for myself yet):
