I'm going to be honest, Spi; I don't like you. I have tried, and tried, because I know somewhere under that sea of intolerance is a good heart, and I respect you for that. So I have tried to like you countless times.

Bullshit; there are perhaps a dozen members on this site whom I consider good friends, and in real life I have a large family and more than enough friends to keep me occupied (and that’s not even getting into acquaintances!). I agree with most of the points you have made Spiral, but I hardly think this is and ever will go anywhere if these firm, tough and irritated responses are all she gets. You probably don't think that what you said was rough at all, but given her apparent life style and the fact that she's home-schooled she obviously isn't used to the life of a normal student, and therefore isn't as used to the roughness of a common crowd. I would think that you of all people, Spiral, would recognize this.

At this stage, everything you say is and will be completely and utterly useless if she doesn't perceive it as positive or constructive criticism. It's the same with any of us, though most of us who are more exposed obviously have a much higher threshold as to what is considered constructive criticism. You need to stand in her shoes for a minute. Did you actually figure your reply was going to get through to her? if I were stepping into your shoes then I would think that yes, this is me being honest and truthful about my observations, and there's no better way than being honest.

However, looking from her shoes I see Spiral going on another rant, like he always does. Why can't he speak or explain something nicely for a change? Maybe if he didn't act like such an ass....

A kid lives with a loving family who treat him nicely, almost too nicely, until his parents are killed in a car crash. He is now adopted by a military household, a place where it's tradition to be extraordinarily obedient. They have another kid living with them who grew up there, and he is completely obedient and unphased when his parents shout out orders at him and is disciplined thoroughly. The new scared child moves in and the parents treat him no different than they treat their own child. How do you think he would feel? He would probably be up all night, crying and scared to go to the breakfast table the next day, and then is too tired to wake up at 7:00 AM - the required time - because of it, and gets disciplined even more. Does this teach him a lesson? Not in the slightest, if anything he will one night open the window, up jump run away.

Now obviously that's a bit of an exaggeration when compared to the MLII situation, but the concept is the exact same.

I love this forum. It seems like a normal place at first. But one of the spammers, Matyuv, became a moderator, you give these hackers/professional shit storm starters special ranks and everyone has a disturbing fetish for the little blue tings, doing absurd challenges (such as Record Day) to get them. Everything is secretly controlled by one or two shadow governments, one of which is named after the French word for 'fart' and another of which seems to be named after the result of mashing random keys on your keyboards (also they worship an airborne pile of feces), then we've got great threads like these...but Ubisoft still treats this place as something of an official forum, communicating directly with the moderators. Huh.
