I never saw SMB's movie and I'll never do it, because of how badly is done (according to the fandom in general).RayTunes wrote:You have to admit that the Super Mario Bros. movie is in your top 10 best movies ever.Master4lyf1 wrote:No, and honestly, considering how Video Games adaptations go, I hope it stays that way.

Re: Rayman himself
The Super Mario Bros movie was bloody awful. Don't watch it unless you're prepared.
I can picture a perfectly good Rayman movie in my head, and it wouldn't be over-dynamic or anything. We just need to get these kinds of things down on paper.stan423321 wrote:The problem with game stories is that usually you can't just take a story and make a movie about it, as gameplay is a great time filler. Because of that, even games with great stories end up short and overdynamic when redesigned as movies. So, you must either come up with some brilliant sub-plots or add anticlimatic scenes.
Not that this is impossible. But it's Not As Simple As Most Think.

I somehow read that as 'pregnant'.RayFan9876 wrote:The Super Mario Bros movie was bloody awful. Don't watch it unless you're prepared.
I have to go to sleep.
G'night.
Re: Rayman himself
For a Rayman film to result, it would really need a careful plot.

Re: Rayman himself
I seriously do not want a movie of Rayman, he was made for video games, and if he couldn't even cut it on the small screen, how would he on the large?
Not to mention whether or not it would be canonical, and be representative of the franchise whilst still being able to maintain decent movie quality.

Re: Rayman himself
That's why I find complicate. The movie had to be very well thought in order to work, or else "no thanks".
Re: Rayman himself
Exactly. I don't really want to see him at a Cinema, I'd rather play with him.Master4lyf1 wrote:I seriously do not want a movie of Rayman, he was made for video games, and if he couldn't even cut it on the small screen, how would he on the large?

Re: Rayman himself
All I want right now is to see him in the next Super Smash Brothers. I think a Rayman Movie would be a terrible idea unless the plot was really (REALLY) good.

Re: Rayman himself
If he is in Smash Bros, all I can say is NO RABBID REFERENCES, it's a little irritating having people suggest he should use a plunger gun in a similar way to Diddy's Peanut gun, when he already has his unique fists!
Re: Rayman himself
I think, considering Origins' style, that a cartoon show would be way better than a movie. and yes, he already HAD a TV show but I'd say do another one, and one that lasts longer than 3-4 episodes.

Re: Rayman himself
A Rayman cartoon would be pretty nice, y'know not something like the regular 25 mins but maybe 5-10 min short episdoes that aired ethier on TV or online. I really wouldin't want a movie ethier just because I don't think it would work out right.
Re: Rayman himself
Little online animated shorts would be cool.
Especially if they were based off Rayman 1 *Squee at the thought of it*

Re: Rayman himself
I'd want then an animated series about Rayman Origins to help people understand the plot xD but I'd keep the 20-25 min duration.

A great idea indeed. Personally I think that MastahRay from DeviantART would be the perfect animation cartoonist for it. If you don't know him, you should check him out.
Re: Rayman himself
I've seen his stuff. He recently made sketches based on Origins. I'd like seeing a cartoon in that style.RayFan9876 wrote:A great idea indeed. Personally I think that MastahRay from DeviantART would be the perfect animation cartoonist for it. If you don't know him, you should check him out.

I've been a big fan of MastahRay ever since I joined DeviantART.

That awesome moment when you realise that Billy West, the same actor that voiced Fry in Futurama, also did the voice of Rayman in the TV series.
(And after a quick search on Wikipedia, he also did the voice of Murfy in Rayman 3 and Rayman Arena)
