Hehe, I just went and played Rayman again to get some screenshots from Mr Stone's Peaks, then I decided to actually play through the level a little. I flew forward into the level madly, then I actually jumped/flinched when Rayman got hurt. XD The hiccup noise startled me.

Up to Pencil Pentathlon. With the game's insane death traps and wierd cryptic paths, it kinda worries me that Rayman is always just smiling like that.

I can't really judge Rayman's difficulty at the moment since I'm playing the toned down Rayman Advance which basically fixes all of the levels from Pencil Pentathlon and Space Mama's Crater to make them playable, but I found that after Picture City, the majority of The Caves of Skops, with the exception of Eat at Joes, is pretty easy - particularly the fight with Mr. Skops in comparison to Space Mama.

Oh, and also - heed this advice. Do not, by any means waste continues. If you know you died a lot because you were playing badly and you know you can do better, don't go mindlessly wasting them on a bad game, just let it game over. This was the mistake I made, and I regret it :(

Picture City was hard, but I found the Blue Mountains harder. The first Space Mama fight was ridiculously difficult though, but the second one in outer space aught to be the most fun boss battle I've played in any game.

Overall though, I found Origins to be much more of a challenge.

You say? In Origins dying was fun, like ''Aww shucks I died. Better try again!''

In Rayman 1 it was traumatizing, like ''Careful careful OOOOH SCIEEEENCEEEE NAAAAAWW  ''

I agree, now If someone hacked lives into Origins, we could properly show just how much harder RO is compared to R1.

I find it more worrisome how Rayman grabs hold of ledges in the Blue Mountains and then lets the big crushing spiky boulders mash them up, while he still holds the cliff ledge quite happily and signals you he may want to get up there.

I have no words for that. Must've been the drugs from the Musician.

Or Rayman really likes cliff ledges.
"OMG a cliff ledge!!!"

But seriously, perhaps Rayman can't see above the ledge, and is curious as to what danger awaits...

Possibly, but it is becoming more and more likely that he is also drugged and loves ledges.

I Got to the Cake Level on PS1 Finally.

I beat it
It was surprisingly Easy Compared To Sega Saturn Version.

Ah, I beat Eat at Joe's again. The second time play-through was so much less frustrating than the first time I played. I guess ducking by default really helps when facing the one-toothed fish monster (yes I will never stop complaining about him :P). It was still, by far, more frustrating than any of the other levels in the Rayman 1 game as of yet. Even the Space Mama's Crater, which is seemingly agreed upon to be the most difficult, pales in comparisson when it comes to the swearing department...

How can that be?
The Saturn version is practically identical to the PS1 version when it comes to Candy Chateau.

Perhaps for the same reason I cleared Eat at Joe's in considerably less time than the first playthrough: experience with the level.

Eat At Joe's has been ingrained into my brain after six playthroughs of finding all the cages, especially in that level.
