< was told by a reliable source that <'s school's final year is actually easier than <'s current one, even though the final year is the one with all the exams. Funny how that works.
< is now starting to grasp Gallifreyan! Behold, interwebs, and shame on you for not incorporating it into your regular text input fields as a language!

< was mute all day due to a very sore throat. School was ... interesting. <'s friend had to go "Well, miss, < thinks < doesn't understand yet."

Since recent, <'s AVG virus scanner detected several rootkits in <'s Windows32 folder. < should try with other anti virus scanners just to be sure AVG isn't getting a false positive since it updated itself quite recently. Nonetheless, < is worried about this and wants advice on what else to do. < really would like to avoid reinstalling the entire system but will if < really has to.

Try Avira free antivirus. It's as good as most paid antivirs and I've never had it fail on me. If it also detects something in that folder, I'd assume the folder is indeed actually corrupted.
However, I'm not sure if reinstalling the entire system is what you need to do. Maybe Microsoft has more clever ways of fixing those sort of things nowadays. Try contacting them too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Avira is certainly a lot less noisy than AVG is. It's fast first-time scan gave me no rootkit detections. Now I'm giving my system a thorough scan. Waiting for the results...

Depending on how full your PC is, that may take a while - as in all day - but it's good to do it anyway. Your computer will bleep on you if it finds anything. And by that, I mean the actual computer will bleep, not your speakers. There's something on the motherboard that goes bleep bleep when Avira finds a baddy.
