But when I compare stuff like the old Dream Forest/Dream Forest Depths tracks to the new Dream Forest/Dream Forest Depths tracks I think the old ones sound a little out dated, also with Canyon of the lost. Music Mountain and Glassdrop Grove were acceptable, but Rolling Hills and Saving Moskito sound like they should be improved. What about the Final Act tracks? Are you going to redo them?
I actually did redo one of The Final Act's tracks. Take a look at soundtrack parts 9 and 23.

Yeah, I've had it up there since 2009.

But I wonder if you have the same awesome creatures roam around there that I do. And how much canyon is actually seen in yours? In mine, the characters traverse through a pretty straightforward path, since both edges are cut off by cliffs and you generally wouldn't go backwards.

In this Canyon, you begin by scaling down the side and the plan to go up what seems like a fairly small gorge. But once you reach the bottom, you realise you can't climb up the other side, so you have to wonder further through, to the point where the walls are far, far higher than you thought. You follow the flow of the river running through the middle. It basically covers every aspect of a canyon, including a place where you have to swim under an eroded wall (take note of the track by the same name in this new part).

When thinking of the Canyon of the Lost, I always imagined parts of it being in a ravine, on rocky platforms on one of the "walls" of it. A bit like the penultimate part of The Precipice in Rayman 2.

EDIT:

That sounds like an amazing level. The water section especially sounds interesting. (I've always been a sucker for water levels).

Makes me wonder what swimming in the Caves of Skops would be like.

In the book the canyon is going to be a very important part of Limpy's past. Also I do know that you had remade Phase One, but when I compared it to the original track I wondered if you were planning to remake the other battle phases. On another note in the first page it says that there are only four phases but there is a track titled Phase Five. I think the first page should be slightly more current. For example some of the characters are missing such as Sideways, Henchman P, and Limpy.

I'm going to erase the first page and replace it with a much more organised site soon.

That's good to know, because no offence but it was starting to look a bit like a clusterfuck.

I actually liked the first post. You could bathe in the information!
But I guess that that is why you want to make a web site out of it. :)

Oh, ok, good. That sounds nowhere near to what I have planned for mine. Only the names will coincide. I wonder though, while I was writing the plot for that level, I kept accidentally calling it 'Canyon of the Lost' as opposed to 'Fallen'. Maybe I did once read the name you have for your place and it subliminally stuck into my head... funny.

But your level sounds really cool. And yes, a website for your game would be the next step. I like the first post though when it comes to the general introduction. All the things detailing the levels and the characters should be moved to the site, but you should keep some elements of the first post intact, to attract newcomers.

What about the very first track? Are you going to redo that? Also I still don't know if you are going to redo the other battle phases. If you want it to remain a secret, that's fine with me. Another thing that I need to be answered soon is if you approve the side story. I have let you take your time with the decision, but I need it to be answered before I continue to write it. One more thing I wanted to ask is were there any worlds that you took out of the game, or renamed?

Hey RayFan, I heard the exact melody of "Fun in the Snow" in a tv show just now!
Wut?
Did you base your melody off something, or did the producers of the tv show just happen across your soundtrack and put it in? (That would be so cool!)

Whoa. Can you PM me a link? That sounds inexplicibally awesome.

On the off chance that I did happen to create something really similar to something else without noticing, then fuck, it isn't the first time. I do technically have memory problems.

That was one of my personal favourites as well. I hope my mind didn't screw me over with this one.

What show? Also I apologize for all annoying question filled posts I have made. To make up for it I'm going to leave this forum alone for a few weeks.

Well, it was some Dutch show called "Bonje met de Buren" (it's about neighbours who have some unsolvable problem with eachother, and then people come to help solve it. Kinda weird :P ) and the link to the 'missed the broadcast' version is here: http://www.rtl.nl/xl/#/u/03ecb7b3-8ff6- ... 80493a1a7/
(You need crappy piece of poo Silverlight to watch it though...)

I don't exactly know at which minute it is, but I'm going to watch this now, and provide you with the time when I find it! :)

EDIT: Found it! It begins around 37:00 and plays till 39:13. Now I hear it for a second time, it is not exactly the same as your melody, but it is really, really, really close!

Also, nooo, don't leave us, R3fan2! There is nothing wrong with asking questions; being inquisitive is good!
Besides, as long as it is a question I can answer, I would have no problems at all with answering it multiple times if I would be able to help people by doing so :) (Don't know about other people's opinions on that though)

I haven't kept up with this topic, so I was wondering how far along actually is this project I know it started in 2009 and recently was delayed for a few more years, but is it at a fairly advanced playable state and just needs a bit more work and some fine-tuning or is it in a quite early state with only a little over half the game coded and fuctional? I was just wondering, it still looks like a great game either way and you're very talented.

@R3fan2: What annoying questions? You're quite helpful actually. Also yes, I approve of the side story.

That's beautiful. I don't know if that's an amazing coincidence, but that is awesome. It's awesome because it feels like I'm hearing something like my track being performed by a real orchestra, even though it's not the exact same, but very close. I want mine to sound like that!

Hearing that though, I should probably change mine a bit in case someone wants to file a lawsuit.

I've listened to it like ten times over, and each time it gives me goosebumps.

It wasn't technically delayed, I was just sort of screwing around from Summer 2009 to Summer 2011, but since Summer 2011 it's been in the real development stage. Pretty much everything at that point had been started over and redone, and it's coming along much nicer now. I would say that the game has been in development now for about 11 months. It'll probably be finished in 3-4 years from now; about 5-7 of the 30 levels have been designed so far, and I'm alternating between that and working on the models and assets. Currently though I'm solidifying the mechanics (which by the way right now make the November 2011 video look like puke).
