Why not add another dozen? We could do with more variety around here, especially considering that our membership will only grow in the future.

The upper end of the rank-list has multiple problems. Do we really need three different versions of Rayman? For the most part, the list is pretty cohesive with the fictional world of the games, but the top three layers throw this out the window, essentially deciding that:

Rayman in R3 > Rayman in R2 > Rayman in R1

and

Leptys-Reflux > Admiral Razorbeard > Mr Dark

This is not at all consistent with how these characters are actually portrayed in the games – the only thing it’s consistent with is the release dates.

You have a point. The more ranks, the better and that's no lie.

I actually like the way there are a few versions of Rayman. He's the main hero, and he changed his look with every game so he may as well have the few ranks. My complaint, which is similar to yours, is that the baddies for the top three ranks make no sense. They are cleverly paired with the Raymen from the game in which they appear, but outside the box, that doesn't make sense. In my opinion the multiple Raymen could stay, but the baddies should be somehow rearranged. And I feel that Mr. Dark should be the top rank from the baddies. That or Reflux-Leptys whom I actually don't like.

Unless for Rayman we leave a RO style, but what about the antagonists? How could that be solved? The traitor Magician? I don't think so.

I think is the best time for change the Rayman 2 rank.

Betilla is Mr Dark’s natural counterpart. The same goes for Polokus and Jano. As for Rayman himself, the most logical evil counterpart is extremely obvious, but it seems that one of our administrators has co-opted that particular character.

I think it's perfectly logical to have the various versions of Rayman paired with the main villains from their respective games. I don't see the need to change that.

I don’t follow the R3 > R2 > R1 logic. It doesn’t fit with the rest of the rank-list. None of the other characters in the series take up multiple slots, and Rayman’s changes from one game to the next are pretty minimal anyway. Different versions of Rayman could still be retained as special ranks for any members who want to associate themselves with them.

I personally like the concept of levelling up through the different Raymans. That's actually my favourite part of the whole ranklist.

Personally, I don't have a problem with it either, and I like the way they are paired with their respective villains. As for the positioning, I think Rayman becomes stylistically and dynamically advanced as the games progress, and it seems illogical to place these ranks (given that they're the same character) in a non-chronological order anyway.

I agree to keep the Rayman ranks. However, some ranks like Robo-Gorilla or Hoodlock could be cut out.

I also wouldn't mind keeping the Rayman ranks. If that happens, I would only suggest to trade the current R2 rank for the Rayman Revolution rank:

I say we should have a competition. Everyone who wants to participate creates as many ranks as they like. Then we sift through them, pick out the best ones and arrange them into a new and expanded rank-list.

I support this idea. I think there was a topic on the old RZ that worked exactly like that, and their ranklist was changed drastically. Actually I believe it was expanded so much that you had like 7 choices at each level, not just 2 like there used to be and like we have now. Perhaps we could do the same thing and allow more options too, something like a R1, R2, R3 and RO rank available at each level.

I do too, and I'll definitely be entering quite a few ranks into this. Careful not to add too much choice though, else it might come across as a scattered mess.

How about, along with the choice of whether you want to be goodies or baddies, you also get the choice of whether you want a R1, R2, R3 or RO rank list?

Of course, this would mean having to make loads of ranks, and hopefully we won't be biting off more than we can chew...


Anyway, whatever we end up doing I'll happily help out making new shizz.

EDIT: Infact, if we do this idea, we could then make the rank list size much shorter (because we'll have a selection) BUT separate the ranks with a larger amount of tings. So instead of having one rank list with 30 levels, we could have 4 ranklists with 10-15 levels or whatever.
