Imagine if every Mario game was more difficult than its predecessor. They would have become utterly impossible by now.

At least it's better than Rayman 3... kind of.

That's the problem I'm having. Before Rayman Origins, Rayman 3 was my least favourite Rayman game of the trilogy, but now it goes to third place in the quadrilogy, but at the same time I want to share both last place with Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins.

One good thing in Rayman Origins is the longevity: it is longer than Rayman 3 if you ignore the Hall of Fame scores, but at the same time Rayman 3 in terms of story was more choerent than Rayman Origins. But I think in my case that I care about the Rayman 3 Hall of Fame scores, Rayman Origins seems to go in last in my list. Do you guys know what I mean?

Is Origins really this unpopular? It's my personal favourite.

I've been agreeing on the common point here since it came out basically. From the moment I started it up I noticed it was missing something, and having also 100%ed it on Wii, PC and Vita, I can say that I have no intent to really play it again unless I happen upon the unlikely occurrence that I'm in the company of another Rayman fan.

But I don't know which of the original three are my favourite. Rayman 1 is the most nostalgic, magical thing I have ever laid my eyes on, Rayman 2 has so much integrity and utter perfection, and Rayman 3 is incredibly fun and epic. All three I can think back on as having really fond memories of, and I can a little with Origins as well (even though it's only been less than a year), but those memories are scarce. I don't even really want to think about the game unless I want to get a headache, because the colour scheme is so in-your-face, obtuse, messy and it didn't even make the effort to blend a whole different array of artstyles together. I'm serious, one of the most annoying examples in is Serendipity's Tricky Treasure: The ship flying in the background is drawn like a side-view blueprint with very little detail, the foreground is a complete mix between cartoon and realistic, Rayman looks like a Nicolodean character, and the background is just WHITE. Plain white. That's just awful by any means. Then there's the story... it's dumb. Then there's the gameplay... it's fun, but I hated the sea levels and the Moskito levels; people shouldn't have to take a real disliking to so many levels in a game.

Over all: 'Lol, you guys just noticed?'

I think it wasn't the big promotion that Ubisoft was doing to the game, I perhaps could have noticed. They left me quite hyper with all the Daily Bubbles and other publicity tricks.

Timesplitters 2? because TSFP was easier than TS2

that is funny, because I think RO is better for competition than R3. it is way too tedious on R3, because you can't just pick a specific level, you have to play a whole world from start to end. it was already hard enough on timesplitters to not screw up on a 4-5 minute long run, but now we are talking about much more than that.

RO's levels are also very similar in each world and there's the same music playing in most of them.

Btw, now I get it why there's two worlds of same theme: for example Jibberish Jungle was going to be in part 1 and Ticklish Temples on part 2. It was nice to have more levels when you thought you were going to Moody Clouds, but if the levels itself would be longer and in one map, that would be better.

I wonder how will be RL's level selection and theming. Hopefully they have taken needed time to finish it and it won't be short, what I'm afraid.

Rayman 3 is definitely better. I don't find it shorter either.

To be honest some of those complaints seem kinda petty to me, with exception of the last one of course. It's fair enough to dislike a game for having gameplay styles you don't enjoy. I can actually relate to that myself. Personally though I love the Moskito levels, and their old-school arcade shooter gameplay.

Even though I love Rayman 2 a (NOTICE THE SPACE) lot, and I find it difficult to let anything top it, Origins just manages to do so.

Well they were examples of things I see a lot throughout the game, not just single occurrences, so in that sense it's not that petty.

I don't know, I still don't find any of it that important, especially not the story issue.

I think that considering the story is the least of our worries when it comes to the games' problems, that's saying quite a lot.
