You gave up in the French walkthrough? :o

Well, I had to do a break of 2 months before continuing to upload new videos. I should see if next week I record and upload the Desert of the Knaaren.

Now, why would you think that? This spring/summer saw a new overall maximum score in R3 and Cut passed the 850k milestone to reach 4th place in HoF. That's pretty decent activity.

In the history of R3 there has been numerous breaks. The longest among them perhaps was in 2005 when Jona and others stopped playing. It took years before Jona was beaten, but he eventually was and the game developed rather dramatically later on. New techniques were invented and new combos created.

There is still work to do. The maximum score for the game has not been reached. It is possible to reach 859k, which should be the next challenge.

I myself have taken a long break from R3, but perhaps I'll give it a go in the autumn break next month.

It would be a great challange too to calculate the max scores for R3HD and try to achieve them. i saw someone reached 863k in the x360 version, which is obviously possible cuz there are no score limitations.

It should be no big deal to reach 860k+ points without scoring limits. TLOTLD alone will provide plenty of points for that.

As for the maximum score, well, it will be impossible to ever get near a theoretical maximum. The conversion of Black Lums alone will take care of that. Imagine you need all Lums to be converted to the maximum value? Anyone would go nuts trying that. And some big combos depend on Lum conversions.

Another thing, there are two levels in R3 with no limits but their natural limits, namely The Fairy Council and The Longest Shortcut. And no-one has got the maximum in either of those levels. And it has taken almost ten years before anyone passed 48.000 points in FC. Imagine doing that in every level. :beurk:

But R3 HD is definitely a new scoring game, which could be fun to try out one day.

Thanks MandM!

It is ironically a higher score than my PC save file, and I have no idea what I did differently in R3HD to get more than in PC version. :boon:

I still wonder how there are guys that managed to get nearly 650000 when I struggle as hell to even reach the 600k!

I think making combos on PS3 or Xbox360 is easier because of the move quality u can have. If you don't have a pad on your PC, it's just really hard to move as well as possible with arrows and to do great combos if you don't optimize your keyboards shortcuts :D.

This is point my view...btw good job haruka for your top 5 on PS3 :yeah: :yeah:

EDIT : corrected

Fixed that for you.

Actually it is the reverse for me: I move Rayman with more accuracy and more ease in a keyboard than with a controller. No wonder why in Rayman Origins for example, I managed to do a perfect run of the Land of the Livid Dead.

Maybe u are more used to play on PC. I wanted to say that when u are used to play both PC and consoles, i find it easier to do top scores on consoles than on PC...

And LoTLD is a 2D level so u don't really pads  . I am talking about moving in a 3D space.

The thought of moving Rayman around with four different keys is completely alien to me. I don't think I could ever play this game on PC and still obtain a reasonable score.

And who says R3 is dead? This topic will keep it alive for a good few years to come. Some day we'll see another person who recognises the excellent replayability and overall enjoyment this game offers.

I don't know why, but my preferences for keyboard vs gamepad gaming are all over the place.
For example, on the PC, I am more than happy to play Rayman 2 with the keyboard, but not Rayman 3, I don't know why, but I feel most comfortable playing Rayman 3 with a gamepad on a PC.

How can Rayman 3 be dead? True, some members here have beaten it to oblivion, but there are plenty of gamers, like myself, who play games not only for the ranking, but for the experience, and while my preferences for a good Rayman experience will always lie with the first two of the four, there is still plenty of fun to be had with Rayman 3.
