I'm in need of some, too. I also need an additional two hundred because you fucking suck.
Re: Rayman 2
Sorry, no can do. I could give you the same amount I gave to Adsolution though. Or maybe you could give me all of your tings.

No, this isn't a quiz, you're allowed to look things up.Minor-T5 wrote:I actually looked it up on RayWiki...did I cheat by looking it up? (I actually knew that that the PC version was released in 1999, but I didn't know that the PC version was released in Europe in 2001)
I'm a little confused now, when exactly did we get Rayman 2 PC?

Re: Rayman 2
This here is how you correctly post just to gain tings. In one post, I gained nine instead of five.
Well, that was an adventure. How about that Rayman 2 I've been hearing about? Something about it being all the rage?
Ah yes, the PC release date in Europe. That seems awfully suspicious.

Re: Rayman 2
I did a quick bit of looking up, IGN has it down as 2001.
I know Wikipedia isn't exactly the most reputable sources, but why exactly do they have November 14, 1999 listed as the release date?

Re: Rayman 2
Its strange how the PC version came 2 years later to Europe, but its true I only got my copy in 2001 because I couldn't find the game anywhere in the shelves so my godfather asked help to American friends to send me a USA PC copy for me.

Re: Rayman 2
Dude. Stop spamming the thread.
The release dates for R2 have to be the most confusing because there were so many different versions of it released since '99. I commend anyone and everyone who remembers every release by heart.

Re: Rayman 2
It's of little consequence anyway, now.
The game's out, knowing when it did come out would be nice, but it's already here to be enjoyed, so why question it?

Re: Rayman 2
IGN lists the US release date as November 4, 1999 with the N64 version listed four days after at November 8, 1999. apparently the PC version scored a 9.2 and N64 interation a 9.0. Like what Master said, it still would be nice to know when this great title shipped to store shelves and people experienced it for the first time. Does anyone on the Community have promotional posters with a date printed on them, nothing can get much more official than a promotional item.
Re: Rayman 2
Only promotional anything I've got is the booklet that came in R1 PSX Greatest Hits. Not sure if the booklet is the same outside of the states, but the back of the booklet has a picture of Rayman with the title of TGE in the top left corner and "Coming in 1999" in the bottom right corner.

Re: Rayman 2
My copies of Rayman Forever, Rayman 1 (PS1) and Rayman Brain Games all have Rayman 2 advertisements inside the case:

I think the one that turned out to become the boxart looks best. The other are all... wonky... one way or the other.

Re: Rayman 2
Which one? The second and third were both boxarts for Rayman 2.
Re: Rayman 2
Hem...sorry abotu the confusion around PC and PS1 versions of R2. In my post dunno why but I typed older instead of newer (hahaha
).
By the way I remember an advertisement when I was young about the fact that R2 was available. It didn't mention something about the date of the different releases but it said "available both on N64 and PC" (translated from French). If I refer to this, I would say N64 and PC versions were released nearly at the same time in Europe (it was a french advertisement). So I guess PS1 version was released after in Europe. However this is pure speculation. I'll check some sources later.
And I don't find this discussion out of topic : We are talking about R2 here, aren't we
?
EDIT : I love you Haruka I found it
.

Re: Rayman 2
He's mentioning the second one for sure (Which I equally love it). The bottom one was only used for the Dreamcast version (Later in the 3DS version too). The PS1 cover is completely different though.Adsolution wrote:Which one? The second and third were both boxarts for Rayman 2.
Ah right!

Re: Rayman 2
Hahah, regional differences. The NTSC PC version uses the exact image in the case, like this:Haruka wrote:The bottom one was only used for the Dreamcast version (Later in the 3DS version too).
...Except for some reason I can't find a picture of the PC version itself. I would take a picture of my own case if a certain someone I absolutely detest didn't trash it.
Also, for Rayman 3D, we got this bizarre piece of what:
Re: Rayman 2
I know it
. But the Dreamcast European cover looks like this:

Re: Rayman 2
I know, I was just adding in that what you said beforehand only applied to the PAL releases.
