Re: Rayman 3
Or, in my case, just favourite a couple of videos and go back to them now and then and reminisce.

Re: Rayman 3
OK, I will analyse it now! I'll report back when I'm done
EDIT:

Your video showed 100% of the missing areas! I will now be able to complete the map! You discovered some awesome new things, such as the green jewel and the collapsible platforms! (were there collapsible erasers in R1? I don't remember seeing that, it might be a new invention)
I downloaded your video so I can play it offline too. Now, after my exams are finished (i.e. Friday), I will continue to work on the minigame maps
Thank you for making that video, I wouldn't be able to create a complete map without it!

Re: Rayman 3
Almost Every Picture City object from 2D Nightmare appears in Rayman 1.There is just a big crayon with stars on it that didn't appear.
I'm happy I helped you

Re: Rayman 3
Hmm... yeah, that crayon is new I think. All the other stuff is in R1. Also, I looked at the 2D Nightmare textures that were ripped from the GameCube version, and there don't appear to be unused Picture City assets (in the 2D Madness textures - stuff from Dream Forest - I found a Nenuphar, which isn't used).
But what I meant was: are there erasers that collapse when you stand on them in Rayman 1? I know there are erasers in Rayman 1 that look the same, but do they behave the same?
Hmm... there are a couple of Slapdashes in 2D Nightmare with a dollar sign on them... they drop a Throttlecopter can when they die... I'm not yet sure how to show that in the map.

Re: Rayman 3
Perhaps in a similar way to how events were shown in the Rayman 1 maps:

The Magician denotes where Rayman must be for an event to occur, a line links with the Magician to the event, whether it be an appearing electoon cage, or platform.

Re: Rayman 3
That's a good idea. However the laser can will appear in exactly the same place as the Slapdash, whereas in Rayman 1 the Magician (gendoor) was linked with a cage or other object in another location.
I think I'll have to place the Slapdash in the correct location, then place a laser can can near it in an unreachable place (like inside a wall) and link the can with the dollar sign.

good idea wondertastic
Re: Rayman 3
This might be an obvious question but does any of you owns a digiBLAST? The R3 for that console is so obscure that we know nothing about it. I saw a video of the digiBLAST on YouTube and it doesn't surprise me why it was a commercial failure.

Re: Rayman 3
DigiBLAST? I have never even heard of that before... and there is an R3 version for it? Interesting. R3 versions are generally nearly identical right? Although Wikipedia says the digiBLAST has cartridges, not discs... so maybe because of that limitation the R3 digiBLAST is different from the other systems' versions.
Re: Rayman 3
I only know it for some years thanks to Rayman-Fanpage, because otherwise I would have never heard about the console itself either.

Re: Rayman 3
What the...?
I just saw the featured image on the front page of RayWiki:

Description: An image from the original Rayman is seen briefly in the third Teensie Highway, which leads from the Land of the Livid Dead to the Desert of the Knaaren.
I thought "let's extract that screenshot with Cheat Engine". So I did.

Rayman has 6 health points in the screenshot! How is that possible?

Re: Rayman 3
Maybe that's a screenshot from a sort of Rayman Beta, and they decided to reduce the Life points of Rayman after. That's pretty funny, I wonder if there is more of that kind of stuff in the games.
Re: Rayman 3
Isn't this from the GBA version?

Re: Rayman 3
Maybe they filtered the screenshot to make it less obvious, or maybe they just wanted it to look weird and hazy for some reason.

Re: Rayman 3
Wow, thanks for the compliments!
I think Haruka is right. The RayWiki article on Rayman Advance says:
Fortunately, I have R1 on my PC, so I could test it.
Now, the GBA version does not only have a different health system. It also has a lower resolution. The part of the level you can see on your screen is smaller than in the PC version. Here's the comparison from RayWiki:

PC version

GBA version
So I started up Doxbox to take a look...

PC version

Mysterious screenshot
The mysterious screenshot shows less of the level than the PC version. However, its perspective is identical to that of the GBA version. I think we can conclude that it is indeed a screenshot from Rayman Advance
Should I add the screenshot to RayWiki?

But that's not conclusive evidence... it could be a beta screenshot or something, right?Rayman starts with four units of health and can get up to six.
