The unnamed psychotic lady, simply referred to as The Witch, in contrast to The Magician, is not just a powerful practicer of witchcraft, but also the artist behind the paintings left to the forest. She was raised in a family of Mr. Dark's supporters, so for all her life she was taught to hate the good. The Magician soon meets her and sees her creating portals through the paintings. He asks for affiliation with her, but The Witch refuses after learning about his failure to defeat Rayman. She has no understanding of what is good and what is bad, so she thinks that Rayman's actions are evil and destroying him would be the right and heroic thing to do. However, The Witch absolutely despises The Magician, calling him powerless, unintelligent and inferior. Her plan to destroy Rayman is to trick him to one of the magical paintings. What Rayman doesn't know is that he and his friends are in the danger of getting trapped to one of the parallel worlds forever after The Witch closes the portal. She masters everything that happens in the worlds, such as the evil creatures that she spawns by painting them, and when Rayman's gang would be trapped, she would release a massive chaos to the world by painting even more destructive monsters and objects. So Rayman has to find a way out, which of course he does, because no downer endings.
I can totally imagine Adsoul ripping your head off.
Well, I'll be honest... when I read the first 3 sentences, I knew I was going to dislike it. I disliked it. I don't like to be mean when fanfiction is created, but I really can't say anything positive about this... the sidestory is just too dramatic for a Rayman game, and giving it so many connections can also confuse newcomers to the franchise who don't know who the balls are Mr Dark or the Magician (which could be the reason why Mr Dark isn't even explained in Origins... probably the developers expected that only true fans could find out by research, without confusing newcomers and just making the magician look like a regular traitor).
I can't even say that the concept is creative.... A witch that locks the main heroes into a painting? well heck, where did I hear that before?
Sorry, again, I didn't want to sound mean, but the whole thing is a little too cheesy.
