Re: Rayman Legends
Rayman Raving Rabbids DS was good in my opinion. Rayman 3D was ok but nothing special. Dreamcast version is clearly superior and best (alongside with PS2). Origins was bad port and as for King Kong, I have not played it

Re: Rayman Legends
How was Rayman Origins a bad port?
Re: Rayman Legends
Ask many people here and I am sure they will have same opinion. It's hard to explain, and the only way of seing that is playing both Home Console and 3DS Version.Raymanarenaps2 wrote:How was Rayman Origins a bad port?
Re: Rayman Legends
I'll just quote my review from the Rayman Origins thread:
Any how OldClassicGamer is right, you have to actually play it to see why it is so bad.It is terrible, just plain terrible. The great gameplay and extremely responsive controls are still there, but everything else vital to the game, just simply isn't. The crisp visuals and lush backgrounds have now become a pixelated blur and quite a few of the character a models have been distorted in some way or another. In the end, all the visuals look like they were ran through MSpiant and edited in Photoshop to remove rough edges, it just all looks poorly made. The same goes for the audio, it has been horribly compressed like low-bitrate MP3 files and makes the speakers pop and crackle when set to full volume. Surprisingly though, the cutscenes look surprisingly good, with balanced audio-level and crisp picture, making them the only thing in the game that was properly converted. As to be expected, the framerate has been butchered in half to 30 FPS as opposed to 60 and for the most part keeps it solid with a slight drop in some of the Tricky Treasure stages. You might as well not even touch the 3D depth-slider, because there is almost little to no noticeable 3D effects to be found in the game, it almost looks like as if your viewing the game from a distance, with only one to two layers of 3D used in the whole game. Not to mention at the end of The Land of The Livid Dead, when then black screen outro plays with the viewhole centering on Fe De La Mort is distorted and painful to the eyes when viewing in 3D. Plus, The level "Get Away!" has also been removed entirely from the game, and there's still a lot more to complain about. With horrible compression, missing enemies, simplified level design, and missing content, Rayman Origins on 3DS simply isn't worth your time or money, unless you are completely desperate to play the game or to have it on the go. The fanbase can thank me for the favor of wasting $30 USD on this god-awful port and telling them how truly horrid it is. The end result is most likely due to two factors: The capabilities of the hardware and the willingness of the developer, and I think we all know how much effort Ubisoft Casablanca puts into their work. This port is a disgrace to the Rayman brand, The Ubisoft Montpellier team, and Michel Ancel's name. If you must, pick it up when it's in the bargain bin for $10, or just do yourself a kindness and buy the Vita version.
Final Score: 5.5/10

Re: Rayman Legends
hey, i never thought of it like that. that's a pretty good explanation imo!Robotic Teensie wrote:Dang this is a really nice idea... I'd love to see an Asian world!globolk wrote:does anyone think that there will be a world styled like the dojo mode in the challenges app? they made a whole new theme, so i don't think they would just use it for a few challenges... besides, a mystical chinese world sounds pretty legendary to me!
btw, a mod needs to add vita to the poll for which version to buy.
Guys, what is the first time we ever heard of the Dojo? Wasn't it the challenge app reveal vid? I have a theory... why are Dojo challenges extremely rare? Maybe because an Asian themed world wasn't originally planned to be included in the game. Maybe they decided to make that world after the WiiU version was delayed. The Asian world could contain part of those 30 new levels they are adding.
If that's true, the Asian world is really a brand new idea and they wouldn't have a lot of assets (such as graphics) for the Asian world yet. That may be why the Dojo challenges are so rare... they might still be working on creating that world. The other worlds, such as the Land of the Livid Dead, had already been created long before they designed the challenge app, so it was easy to build challenges for those worlds.

HOLY SHIT THAT ENDING WAS AMAZING! Though I sincerely hope that that wasn't the ending of the game.
EDIT: Anyone notice how the pig constellation looked like a pig from Raving Rabbids?

Re: Rayman Legends
When I was shown the Rayman Legends footage of Castle Rock level, I pretty well already fell in love with the game.
I had to simply get the demo on the Wii-U and it was quite enjoyable, even my mom liked it. Mainly because of how this level was in tune with their version of Black Betty song. Mom says they should have a Rayman game with levels all based off some rock music.

i'm not sure, but in the challenge mode announcement trailer, they showed a sketch of the same robotic dragon, and on his side was written NEMO.Rulez wrote:@globolk: if the dragon's name turns out to be Nemo, I'd be fucking pissed.

Re: Rayman Legends
Well, judging by the level name, it will be something like Mecha-Dragon. Is that better or worse than NEMO?Rulez wrote:@globolk: if the dragon's name turns out to be Nemo, I'd be fucking pissed.
Re: Rayman Legends
I doubted that his name would actually be Nemo, because it was an obvious reference to Captain Nemo (though I personally like to associate Nemo with Point Nemo - the Plastic Beach, lel), but globolk may be right...

Re: Rayman Legends
Hm, that doesn't seem to be the ending of the game at all. It looks like ONE of the many endings per world. If I remember, ubisoft once said that every world would tell a different story. Why can I ensure this? well...
1.This ending is overly simple. Even more simple than Rayman Origins. If Origins left us confused, this is even worse.
2.Mecha Dragon can't be a name for a final level. Heck, I remember the last level in Rayman Origins was called "The Reveal".
3.For some sort of rule of gaming, a water level can't be a final level.
But hey, at least the Magician got the most humiliating punishment you'll ever see. (Spoiler:He was sent directly to... come on, we all know its Uranus, even Ubisoft couldn't avoid that pun.)
Also, we finally know how Rayman's planet looks!... sort of... well... the shape of the Glade of Dreams can be seen there. I can't still tell if the planet is entirely round or not, but it probably is...

It'd be fucking hilarious if the dragon's name is Nemo. By the way, have you seen my son? Oh, that..? Okay...
