For anyone who's not following Lucky Hit, here's some coverage of Rayman Legends with me in my Barbara costume (Legends stuff starts at about 2:10)

Why? 3ds is so far the most amazing console of the generation... not that I want to change your mind or anything.Keane wrote:I'm hoping Vita eventually introduces some more titles that interests me because I do want to own the handheld versions. 3DS is not an option.

Re: Rayman Legends
The 3DS is a slightly-more-powerful DS with stereoscopic capabilities. I am amazed.

Re: Rayman Legends
The 3DS has almost as much power as the Wii. The Vita, on the other hand, is roughly as powerful as the PS3. This would explain why the 3DS port of Rayman Origins is awful, while the Vita version is fantastic.Adsolution wrote:The 3DS is a slightly-more-powerful DS with stereoscopic capabilities. Stacey, I watched it, and I'm entering the contest, glad you and the Lucky Hit Team had a good time, I loved seeing the way you struggled to hold the Rayman plush, looks like you guys had a blast, I can clearly tell Game and Wario was the best thing for you guys there, seeing you guys have so much fun, makes me want it more.
Vita is much better than 3ds... sorry Sergio. Though the 3ds is getting Project freaking X zone soon which will be incredible.
I recently re-visited back at Kid Icarus Uprising, I still stick with my statement of the game looking graphically amazing for the 3ds, the one HUGE problem I have that I didn't notice before is the game's awful controls.

Re: Rayman Legends
It's not the 3DS's fault that the port turned out like it did. A game like Resident Evil: Revelations proves that the system is well capable of providing stunning graphics and gameplay if the development is handled correctly. Those who ported 'Origins to the 3DS obviously did a terrible job. Therefore, don't blame the system, blame the developers.Bionichute wrote: The 3DS has almost as much power as the Wii. Re: Rayman Legends
Jesus, now Capcom, THEY KNOW how to port! Making a great looking Resident Evil game for it, and a greatly ported Super Street Fighter IV version. There is NO EXCUSE why Rayman Origins can't be ported properly to the 3ds- Resident Evil and Street Fighter could do it just fine, and those are 3D games.
The 3DS is a nice little handheld but I agree with Ad here, it's nothing special from the DS, I like Vita more because it has better fighting games and a better ported Rayman Origins.

Re: Rayman Legends
Same thing happened with Rayman 2 for the 3DS. While it's still a mediocre port, the potencial it carried was on a much higher level. We could've gotten Revolution with improved graphics, reduced glitch-issues, smooth 60 fps and even new features. Instead, we were given a port with weird sound problems and a lower framerate.
The only thing improved was the fucking barrels that Rayman carried.

Re: Rayman Legends
Which is a shame, Rayman 2 is a great game but we have not had a decent handheld port of it yet, best version is the 3ds version though so far.

Paper Mario Sticker Star was the worst Paper Mario I played, I much prefer the Vita. 3DS does have a decent library though.

Re: Rayman Legends
No, it doesn't, not even remotely close. The 3DS doesn't even match up to the GameCube, and in many respects it's actually weaker: Half the CPU clock, only three-quarters the graphical fidelity (which is especially poor considering the fact that it needs to render no lower than 60 FPS, and all the way up to 120 FPS)... in fact, the only thing in the 3DS doesn't lose in when compared to the GameCube's power is the RAM, which happens to be more than double that of the GameCube's for some reason.Bionichute wrote:The 3DS has almost as much power as the Wii.
Heheh, Sticker Star was awful. As a standalone game it's alright, but as a successor to the Paper Mario franchise, it's basically what Mountain Lion is to Snow Leopard, but worse.Rayfist wrote:Paper Mario Sticker Star was the worst Paper Mario I played

Re: Rayman Legends
Agreed, I'm disappointed to say I enjoyed SUPER PAPER MARIO on the wii more, tis a shame. Nothing will ever come close to beating Thousand Motherfucking Year Door, one of the most moving, beautiful and fun RPG's of all time.
Re: Rayman Legends
So many things here are posted, and I agree on many of them. Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door was clearly the best.
As for Kid Icarus Uprising controls, that is the only thing I do not agree. I had no problem playing the game and controls are ok in my opinion.

Re: Rayman Legends
I actually liked the first Paper Mario better, as I found that the stunningly beautiful and memorable environments and the totally nonchalant, surreal humour of the first game where somewhat lacking in the second; the second game was a bit more slapsticky, and while some of the environments were awesome, I find myself not being able to remember the individual areas very well.
That being said, they're both absolutely fantastic, and I only prefer the first over the second by about 15%.

I myself never got the chance to play the first Paper Mario game. However, I did get to play the others of the series, and I will agree that Sticker Star was the weakest of the series. It definitely had its strong points. I want to give it credit for feeling the most like paper than the others, so it was definitely aesthetically pleasing and the use of stickers was a pretty fresh idea, to me anyway. The story was, well, paper-thin. *shot for bad pun*Adsolution wrote:I actually liked the first Paper Mario better, as I found that the stunningly beautiful and memorable environments and the totally nonchalant, surreal humour of the first game where somewhat lacking in the second; the second game was a bit more slapsticky, and while some of the environments were awesome, I find myself not being able to remember the individual areas very well.

I will also agree that Thousand-Year Door was by far the best of the series. It had so much going for it, not limited to the story, the characters, the humor, and the atmosphere of the environments. Super Paper Mario I also immensely enjoyed, mostly for its story (need we forget the vast amount of dialogue?), characters, and level designs. Everything else was lackluster, especially the gameplay.
Re: Rayman Legends
I've got very little interest in the consoles itself. In the end it's the games that you like that are gonna make your purchase worth it. A few years back my brother got a PSP because he thought it was more "revolutionary" then a DS and ended up keeping it as a MP3 player because only about five games interested him. That's a lot money to listen to music. Vita is definitely the superior console but until I see more games that get my attention the console is not for me.
No doubt about it. Despite some of it's flaws I found it to be a decent game and had fun with it, but what was really missing was the Paper Mario world. I mean the environments like the bogly tree, castle bleck, etc. We already have plains and deserts in every Mario game.Rayfist wrote:Paper Mario Sticker Star was the worst Paper Mario I played

Re: Rayman Legends
While a PSP may not have the most attractive game library to some, its functionality and usefulness increases tenfold when modded.

You mean emulators?
