Re: Rayman Legends
Perhaps Hunch should embed these trailers to the portal page, that way, everyone can see and understand that we're very much likely to have seen it already.
Re: Rayman Legends
Ahhh...I didn't notice that.
Re: Rayman Legends
There is one thing why it Legends will not be able to surpass Rayman 2 in eyes of the fans. One word will explain: NostalgiaMaster wrote:If Legends manages to surpass Rayman 2 in my eyes, I will be genuinely shocked.
Now as game itself, It actually might surpass it (more sales, higher scores,...) but I think for fans, no game can beat Rayman 2 Dreamcast version.

Re: Rayman Legends
Perhaps, but most the fellows here are reasonable chaps, if Legends is as good as Yves claims, we'll see it sooner or later.
Re: Rayman Legends
I know that it will be in my opinion most likely best game of 2013

Re: Rayman Legends
I don't think there's a chance of it 'plausibly' beating Rayman 2, because there are far too many things it has to go up against. Rayman 2 excels in virtually all areas: action, level design, fluidity, controls, music, surreality, adventure and pacing. Given the type of whackey multiplayer game Legends is, no matter how much fun it is or how nice it is to look at, I don't see it happening.
It's unlikely for it to be my game of the year, but who knows.

Re: Rayman Legends
If "generic forest" beats "traveling through gorgeous medieval worlds while fighting against anthropomorphic frogs while a gigantic luchador pursues you while you rock out the shit out of your electric guitar" in the definition of surrealism, heck, I've been wrong all these years.
However, I respect your opinion Ad c:
In my opinion, though, Rayman Legends will squeeze Rayman 2's buttocks.
I'm that unusual fucker who says:
RAINBOW ROAD IN MARIO KART 64 SUCKED (IMO). It's plain, it's boring, the neon cartoons are pretty, but that's it, everything else is an ugly looking aurora in a black background. It's not the best Rainbow Road in the Mario Kart legacy, people just love it but that's because they grew up with it, nothing else. I dare to say that the Rainbow Road on 3ds is gorgeous, it's beautiful, it's unique, it's special... but neh, people will disagree and kick my ass because of... guess what? NOSTALGIA!

I fucking hate nostalgia. Sometimes it's...good, you know, for the memories and stuff, but saying that "things used to be better in the past" makes us sound like cranky elders. It's stupid. Technology advances, ideas improve, and people just don't seem to get over it. As usual, nobody wants change.OldClassicGamer wrote: There is one thing why it Legends will not be able to surpass Rayman 2 in eyes of the fans. One word will explain: Nostalgia.

Re: Rayman Legends
To me, good surrealism implies blending those different elements well enough to create a sense of mystery and wonder, something larger than life. The Legends type feels a bit too raw and literal for my taste.sergiomonty wrote:If "generic forest" beats "traveling through gorgeous medieval worlds while fighting against anthropomorphic frogs while a gigantic luchador pursues you while you rock out the shit out of your electric guitar" in the definition of surrealism, heck, I've been wrong all these years.

Ah! but you do know the meaning, don't you? Bleh, ignore what I said, let's go to the meaningful thing:Adsolution wrote:Not in a million years could I guess what that's supposed to mean.sergiomonty wrote:In my opinion, though, Rayman Legends will squeeze Rayman 2's buttocks.
In my opinion, Rayman Legends will (probably) be a lot better than Rayman 2.
The art is gorgeous, the characters are charming, it will have many simple but likeable stories, the online will increase the replay value a lot, the collectables' distribution is a lot better than Rayman Origins. I hate to disagree but: the controls are better and more fluid.
It's my opinion though, maybe you don't think the same because they're not on the same category. Rayman 2 is a 3d platformer with third-person shooter-based combat, while Rayman Legends is a colorful 2d platformer with simple combat.

It's just a matter of what people prefer. There is no worse or better.sergiomonty wrote:I fucking hate nostalgia. Re: Rayman Legends
I wasn't comparing Legends and Rayman 2, I was stating that 'these points currently owned by Rayman 2' are what Rayman Legends has to go up against.sergiomonty wrote:I hate to disagree but: the controls are better and more fluid.

Re: Rayman Legends
Hmm, I've only dabbled with recent MK Games, and I've consistently enjoyed (and raged, blue shells are bloody irritating) all their Rainbow Roads, but Wii's is the one that does it for me.
Anyways, I don't really know what to make of the whole greatest games thing, I'll have to wait and see.

Re: Rayman Legends
If you're going to simply agree with someone, can you at least use some punctuation and expand upon it a bit more so it looks as if you're at least putting some effort into typing your posts? You've lately been posting a lot of those 'same' and 'I agree' type things, and it's coming across to me as very floody.
Re: Rayman Legends
Same thing in here, I honestly really doubt that Rayman 2 will be surpassed one day in overall quality. Sure, Rayman Legends looks impressive so far but I would bet in this game staying in the middle of the quintology. R1 and R2 would stay better than RL, the others would be less better RL.Adsolution wrote:I don't think there's a chance of it 'plausibly' beating Rayman 2, because there are far too many things it has to go up against. it's impossible to combat against it...
What else can I say? Sure, you made your point a bit more clear, but since I tried the demo I still think Legends is better than Origins in terms of controls. That's it. I didn't need to express myself more than a simple "okay". What I said wasn't new at all. I try to be the least redundant possible.Adsolution wrote:If you're going to simply agree with someone, can you at least use some punctuation and expand upon it a bit more so it looks as if you're at least putting some effort into typing your posts? Sorry about my lack of punctuation, though.
