On a totally unrelated note, I'm looking for feedback on this:
I'm doing full video covers of all the songs from Muse's first album, Showbiz, but I won't actually be uploading them until they're all done (this video is set to Unlisted). I've currently finished recording three out of twelve songs, and am currently working on editing the video portion of the second. But, before I continue, I'm wondering if I can receive some feedback on the first completed song/video here so I know what I could fix or change.
These aren't lip/play-synced; I recorded every actual audio take I did with the camera as well.
For reference, this is the original song:
Note that my purpose is to make it sound as much like the original as I can, but not one-hundred percent exactly the same. About 85%.

While in Showbiz I do have Falling Down, Unintended and Showbiz to look forward to, I seriously cannot wait to move onto Origin of Symmetry. There I'll have New Born, Space Dementia, Hyper Music, Plug-in Baby, Citizen Erased, Feeling Good and Megalomania, almost the entire tracklist to have the time of my life with.
Isn't this the one I've heard before, with the raspy "hide" near the end?
I like the video, well-put together. Music-wise, my only complaint is that I kinda think the drums right before the solo sound better in the original. I know you're not aiming for a 100% accuracy, but I'm just pointing out.

Thanks Ricky James!

Yup.

Aye. I'm not an experienced producer, so even though that would have been the sound I was going for, I wasn't able to achieve it. Well, not yet, anyway.
In regards to the editing, I also think the way the guitar-playing Cody appears is nice, but it looks kinda weird when it slightly zooms in and fades. The vocals in the chorus could be slightly more "frantic" like in the original, but that's just my opinion. Otherwise it's quite fantastic.
Also I love your "performance hair"! It makes you look a bit similar to Adsoul's Cody/Bingham, meaning a live music video wouldn't be impossible sometime
Thanks again, everyone! This day just keeps getting better and better.

It was roughly $400, but since my brother and I both work with audio, we both paid $200 for it. Aside from sharing equipment though (for money's sake obviously), we do things very differently, and there are a couple things each of us have (usually an instrument, like my precious Godin Flat Five) that we don't let the other person use. Rarely do we collaborate unless I'm filming/editing a music video for him or something.
@OldClassicGamer:
I can't listen right at the moment, but I'll do so as soon as I'm home.
Not really "obsessed". Nowadays i don't think it's even limited to manga and anime anymore (although it's still the most important part). An otaku is simply a person who is really passionate about japanese comic books and the culture of japan in general. I respect those people as long as they don't shove in my face the idea that Japan is the best place in the world nyan desu.
