I believe so since the DVD is written "Kill Bill: A Vingança", I didn't check online the original title so I used the real translation. (I just checked online and the real title seems to be Kill Bill: Vol. 1)

I was bored yesterday night so I digged this DVD from my father's movie collection, and decided to watch it. There was the Woo Woo song of course :P.

Les Miserables. Meh. I really just wanted to see it for the And I'm Javert scene. Typical movie that kisses the ass of all movie awards. Helena Bonham Carter's performance sucked, but that was to be expected.

I just rewatched The Core last night for the first time since its release ten years ago.

I actually really like it. Despite all of the glaring, totally illogical pseudoscience going on, I found it to be a film that holds a lot of charm and a lot of passion to just be an entertaining adventure. The film has garnered a load of hate for said scientific innaccuracies; so many critics seem almost offended by it. So much of what was going on was total bullshit, but that was hardly the focus of the movie - if I had to, I'd almost classify it more as a fantasy science-fiction like Pacific Rim. The charm I find comes how such a ridiculous concept is embodied in the direction and acting. It's fun, it's exciting, and you genuinely get quite attached to the characters; I found Serg's death especially emotionally impactful, almost so much so that I couldn't watch, which I rarely ever find to be the case in most movies I've seen. Another particularly awe-inspiring scene is when their ship gets stuck in the giant valley of crystals and the lava breaks through the crust, filling it all up.

Overall, I think this movie has received far too much hate for its pseudoscience, when you have so many more 'flawless' films out there that don't possess one tenth the amount of heart that The Core had. Sure, it may be cheesy, but we were promised an epic, creative, colourful and exciting adventure down to the centre of the Earth, and that's exactly what we got. I love it.

I remember that movie. I don't think it's all that bad either, just the cheesiness that can get on my nerves.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. What an absolutely brilliant movie. And I know a million people have said this, but Carrey's acting is just perfection. Really a shame to know that he can do so well but remains to play in films like The Number 23 or Mr. Popper's Penguins.

I watched the movie adaptation of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. John Hurt is so good at playing miserable characters...

I've never seen John Hurt give a performance that was less than excellent.

Kill Bill: Vol. 2 was the last movie I've watched so far. Err, well re-watched, and plus I can't honestly say that I did in the first place since I only caught the ending, but at least I got to see that amazing ending to the movie once again. It's one of the movies on my list that I will always re-watch whenever I see that it's on TV. I give the movie a 10/10. Ultimately, I've never seen the first one so I can't compare it to the first, but I will one day.

The scene where Beatrix busts the coffin open and claws her way out of her grave has always been an iconic one to me. It's truly one of the greatest examples of the term "Never give up" in a movie that I've ever seen, as you could imagine. Another scene that really stands out to me is the entire last chapter, what with her finally finding Bill, spending time with her daughter, and then telling the tale of her first finding out that she was pregnant before finally - wait for it - killing Bill. And then the movie series ends with a happy note as we see her hysterically crying - or perhaps laughing, maybe a mixture of the two I never could tell - on the bathroom floor only to come out and join her daughter in front of the TV.

And thus the end credits roll.

I've recently seen We're the Millers and it was hilarious. Really good movie to me.
I have also seen The Purge which was kind of stupid and didn't enjoy it as much.

The last movie that I've seen in the theaters was The Heat. Automatic 10/10. It was a non-stop rollerlollercoaster of shits 'n' giggles backed up by a pretty good plot, I must say.

I took a look at A Monster in Paris last night on Netflix. It was a very sweet story and much better dubbed from the original French track than I imagined (although, to be honest I haven't really heard the French version, but yeah). I felt that the characters and story were lacking slightly in real depth, but the characters themselves are very likable, well animated and color, and fun to watch. And the story, while lacking in depth, is engaging and enjoyable. And the song that serves as the movie's main theme will easily get stuck in your head. It's basically a simple family romp, but it's a romp I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.

I may go see Insidious 2. It's a shame to hear it doesn't live up to the first one.

Could use some more explaining here and there, but overall a very decent movie.
