Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Although everyone recommends the GameCube version, I recommend the PC version if your PC can handle it. The games vibrant and surreal levels really shine spectacularly in native 1080p (I think it uses that), and at 60 FPS. It also has nicer water effects, and shading.
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
GameCube version is probably recommended the most because not all Sonics are on PC (at that time) so it was best for complete collection.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
True, but Sonic games on PC can be pretty good in terms of performance, just look at Generations.
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Yep, I must agree. Anyways, does anyone own Resaurus Sonic Adventure figures? I would really like them. Only thing I own besides games of Sonic are 3 statues.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Hm, not sure I know what you speak of OCG.
I bought my bro a Sonic Rider figurine during an Alton Towers trip once.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I remember seeing those figures in toy stores, back in the day.
As for Sonic merch, I've got the Sonic Generations Collector's Edition, a Tails plushie, a Knuckles plushie (whose leg got ripped off a while ago!), and a Super Articulation Knuckles figure. Don't believe I currently have much else though. I used to have the McDonald's toys, but they're long gone now.

IGN seems to be really loving Lost World. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/23/ ... ?6412132=1
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
And rightfully so. This is the Sonic game I've been wanting to see for as long as I can remember. Sega should have woken up earlier and realised how much they were throwing away when the original, classic Sonic world was replaced.SegaNintendoUbisoft wrote:IGN seems to be really loving Lost World. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/23/ ... ?6412132=1

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I'm pretty sure I gave my two cents about Sonic awhile ago on here, so I'd waste the little energy I have doing so again. But I'll go ahead and give my opinon on the series anyways. The 2D games were great - pretty decent atmospheres and not-to-appealing characters, but not all of them were that bad either; the gameplay of the 2D games were fine and all, but I never fancied it on account that the screen moved too quickly for you to even know what the fuck was going on which made the games much more difficult than they really were. All in all the game had never interested me that much though. As for the 3D games, well the only ones I've played that I enjoy are Sonic Adventure and Shadow the Hedgehog.
So there it is. I'm practically done with this topic now.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I have a love/hate relationship with the series. There's a lot of shit but also some gems here and there.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Eh, yeah, all around my feelings toward the series as a whole. This love/hate scenario is definitely true for the latter games even more so than it is for the series in a whole though. The 3D ones are mostly shit with a few gems thrown in inbetween. At this point, I'm pretty sure that Sega is just trolling the shit out of Sonic - and Sega - fans in order to garner an equal amount of lulz and money up at the same time.Keane wrote:I have a love/hate relationship with the series. Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
The only real bad game for me in the "dark ages" was Sonic 06, the rest were just mediocre at best. Say what you will about Unleashed, it had effort put into it. You can tell Sonic Team were at least trying to make a good game. Besides, after that, the series has been steadily improving. Unleashed was a step in the right direction, Colors was a Jump, and Generations was the goal ring, and if Lost World is as good as it looks, it will be even further. Not to mention, review sites are really impressed with the game, even Tom McShea of all people like it. I would say the Sonic is certainly back on track.

It's good to see more and more people are joining the others is erasing Sonic and the Black Knight from the universe.SegaNintendoUbisoft wrote:The only real bad game for me in the "dark ages" was Sonic 06, the rest were just mediocre at best. Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
People at Destructoid hated Sonic Colors, to the point of giving it a 4.5.
And yet they loved Sonic Lost World's demo.
