Re: Rayman 1
Didn't you and Tech get into a bit of an argument over emulators, OCG?
Re: Rayman 1
I think Advance's sound has some charm. I actually quite like the musical choices they made for each world. It almost has kind of a gloomy feel to it compared to the original soundtrack. Have a listen to my playlist if your interest. I dunno, the variation of sound is pretty bad and low quality but it gives some good vibes while playing Picture City or The Cave of Skops.Disionity wrote:I didn't really care for most of the tracks Rayman Advance modified, the title screen theme was the only one that I liked, and it was only fair to say the least. I believe one member here likened the soundtrack's quality to as if "it were played on a broken Casio Keyboard."

I really like the extra tracks they added into the Blue Mountains in Advance, those being the Musician's theme and the one that plays during the rising waters - I can't remember their names right now.

Re: Rayman 1
Each to their own, I prefer the original soundtrack.
Re: Rayman 1
The first one is High Mountains and the second one I can't remember. I love High Mountains a lot, brings back memories of when I was first discovering Rayman Advance and that music would play when Rayman makes the Musician a new guitar and fly away.Adsolution wrote:I really like the extra tracks they added into the Blue Mountains in Advance, those being the Musician's theme and the one that plays during the rising waters - I can't remember their names right now.
Heheh... 'High'

I think you mean this track:Adsolution wrote:I really like the extra tracks they added into the Blue Mountains in Advance, those being the Musician's theme and the one that plays during the rising waters - I can't remember their names right now.
I fucking love it.
Re: Rayman 1
I think all my 'nostalgic' Rayman memories come from the Rayman Advance soundtrack.
Like I remember playing it for the first time, I remember the Pink Plant Woods theme and thinking "Wow this game is so cheesy and cheery"
And I remember how much I loved the opening theme and the way it played in Allegro Presto, my ting-grinding level
And Like I said before, flying through Mr Stone's Peaks with High Mountains in the background
Good times, good feels.

Re: Rayman 1
Rayman looks terrible with smoothed sprites, anyway, so why does it matter if it's in HD or not? Also, many versions of Rayman won't even run in the emulators later than 1.7, and with 1.7 you get terrible sound bugs (the music doesn't even loop in emshomar's video). It's the same reason why it's better to play on a real console rather than on an emulator. Really, stop worshiping ePSXe. It's not that good.OldClassicGamer wrote:Those are the easiest instructions ever. If you can use flash and draw then you wont have problem with something easy as emulator. check emulators topic. Oh and don't use Xebra. Use ePSXeBradandez wrote:I dunno. I'm kinda iffy when it comes to programs that require instructions like that. :/
XEBRA is just like the PS2's PSX emulator. It's SO MUCH BETTER than ePSXe. (And, no, I'm not a fanboy, since I did use to use ePSXe before it. Check my videos for proof.)
Yes, we did. For this same fucking reason.Master wrote:Didn't you and Tech get into a bit of an argument over emulators, OCG?

Re: Rayman 1
LOOOOL I just heard Rayman GBC music in tonight's Eastenders, one of the kids in it had a 3DS and was playing it on that.

Re: Rayman 1
huh, perfered the original one.
Re: Rayman 1
Obviously the original is better, but for a GBC title Rayman is brilliant.

Hm, don't watch Eastenders or any other soap, but neat, if not probably unintentional reference.Cairnie wrote:LOOOOL I just heard Rayman GBC music in tonight's Eastenders, one of the kids in it had a 3DS and was playing it on that.
Re: Rayman 1
The GBC port is a good game, and it isn't a bad idea to play it in your 3DS since the Virtual Console can save states, like this it avoids you to keep noting the passwords (if you guys saw the paper I have with those!).
Re: Rayman 1
Oh God the password system. I had a whole sheet written full of them.

Re: Rayman 1
suckers! got the 3ds version :3
Re: Rayman 1
I used to have Visual-boy advance to play Rayman GBC and Rayman Advance.
The GBC version was good, though the music hurts my ears! >~<
Whether i'm playing it on an emulator, watching a video or on raytunes, it's annoying >~<
Though thats my only problem with the GBC port :/

Re: Rayman 1
The GBC version isn't a port, porting would imply that it's the same game on another console. While it follows a similar structure and story, it's more of an adaptation for the GBC.
Re: Rayman 1
Heck, even GBA version is not port since it has differences because of GBA hardwere.
Re: Rayman 1
I was reminded that I seen a PS1 copy of Rayman 1 at a swap meet and only for 10 dollars. I didn't buy it because I had no working PS1.
