Re: Games you consider underrated
When I convert back to Windows 7 (fucking hate 8 so far) I'm interested in trying to beat the first Croc. Unfortunately, the version of Croc that I got for the saturn, the controls are as twice as wobbly as they were on the PS1, if not worse.
Re: Games you consider underrated
I pretty much have same experienceHaruka wrote:The controls in PS1 are atrocious indeed, but in PC they are sharp and precise. I have no issues at all in controlling Croc on PC since he goes exactly where I want him to go, on PS1 it often leads to death.
Re: Games you consider underrated
I would have mentioned Ico and Beyond Good & Evil, but as they have evolved into cult classics, which I don't consider underrated. Also, Toy Story for the Sega Genesis was a fairly good licensed title, while it didn't live up to the standards set by previous Disney titles, it is most certainly a enjoyable game, quite underrated.

I have Toy Story 2, I did find that game somewhat underrated.

Blue Shift. Short as it is, I love every second of this game.

I don't see any mentions of Vexx, probably because most people haven't even heard of that one. Horribly underrated game, it didn't have the best combat, but the Banjo-esque platforming and collectathon action with all the puzzles and such was really quite something. Probably the last great open world 3D platformer I've played, I really miss those sorts of games, wish they still made them. I'd throw all my money at a shiny new platformer that played like that.
Re: Games you consider underrated
Oh you are finally posting again. I missed seeing your awesome signature.
I heared about Vexx but I haven't played it. It is made by same company that made South Park games.

I tried a bit the emulation of Croc for Saturn, and what I felt was a delay in response and also unprecision. I could only tell if it would be worse or not than PS1 if I was playing in a real console though.Rayfist wrote:When I convert back to Windows 7 (fucking hate 8 so far) I'm interested in trying to beat the first Croc. I'll leave here the intro of Croc 1 and Croc 2:

Psychonauts: Deserved more attention than it gone. Its really imaginative and boasts some of the best character and level design ive ever seen in a paltformer.
On the matter of Psychonauts, it is a game I have wanted to play for some time, yet haven't tried to acquire a copy. Since I do not own a Xbox, Xbox 360, or PS3, and wouldn't be very suited for the PC version, is the PlayStation 2 version as horrid as many have said, I've heard many things about poor audio syncing, poor framerate that drops so low that it impacts gameplay significantly, extremely long load times, unresponsive controls, and many glitches.

"than it gone" Ouch, I should start proof reading what I type. I heard the Xbox version is the definitive version, however the Ps2 versions is fine in my opinion; I never experienced anything too horrific.Disionity wrote:Bzzit wrote:Excllent topic idea! Some of mine include:

Re: Games you consider underrated
Seems like the PS2 seems to be getting the short end of the stick when it comes to multiplat releases, but that seems reasonable, given that it wasn't the most powerful of its generation.
Re: Games you consider underrated
@Bzzit, could you list some of the problems you experienced during your playthrough? I would much rather have the Xbox version, but it wouldn't really be the wisest idea to spend $30 to $50 USD for a console just for Psychonauts and a handful of other titles at the moment.
Re: Games you consider underrated
I haven't played the game fully in about 4 years, however I did start a playthrough a few months ago and I just experienced a few framerate issues, nothing major though!
Re: Games you consider underrated
Why not play PC version with controller?

Does it have controller mapping? I recall that some games don't have it, which makes it a pain to deal with since you need third party mappers to get controls right.

It supports controller. Also here is patch to replace keyboard buttons with Xbox buttonsMaster wrote:Does it have controller mapping? I recall that some games don't have it, which makes it a pain to deal with since you need third party mappers to get controls right.

Hm, I see.
I speak of my initial frustration with Rayman 2, before I dealt with and grew accustomed to keyboard control on it.

Didn't you say that you actually liked 8, and you were simply returning to 7 due to compatibility performance issues with some of the games you play?Rayfist wrote:fucking hate Windows 8 so far
