Re: Rayman 1
Hm, I like the first Space Mama level, the music and art style really give off a heavenly feel, ironic, given how hellish difficulty is the name of the game for this lot of levels.
Re: Rayman 1
Because its SOOOO hard pressing the down button...and its even HARDER to duck AND move at the same time -.-You are probably right about you thinking Space Mama is easier. Space Mama has 12 health points, uses a washing machine at the start of the fight to hurt you, fires a lot of those bomb things which is hard to not get hit, and fires constantly. Space Mama is harder then Mr.Stone, and you ain't that funny. I beated Mr.Stone without dying on my first time but in the Space Mama fight, I died 3 times.
No need to get snappy, I don't consider myself funny, I was being sarcastic.
I have said before everyone has their strengths and weaknesses on Rayman 1, some people may find Gong heights easy and some people may find it difficult. Some people may find Mr.dark harder than mr.sax and vise versa.
I personally find space mama's battle easier than Mr.Stone's battle, I have already explained why.
I also don't care how much an enemy's HP is, its mainly about what they're attacks are and how you need to dodge them, then find the right time to strike, in the this case, Space mama's weak point is easy, making the amount of HP argument invalid.
EDIT:
The only versions I own is the DSiware version, isn't a bad port, just that the checkpoint gimmick is a little annoying :/Hm, you're playing the PC version then? Perhaps there might be some difference which causes that effect.
Picture City as a whole is an ass, though it's Space Mama's Crater that has the controller-throwingly aggravating area
I have played rayman advance on an emulator before, though I deleted my GBA emulator because of screen crunching.

PSX's D-pad is brutal, I've gotten blisters by constantly ducking and moving. not as bad as the N64's though *shudders*.Stoney! wrote:Because its SOOOO hard pressing the down button...and its even HARDER to duck AND move at the same time -.-

you get more life force in dsi version, and a map, so it's a lot less brutal this way.Stoney! wrote:The only versions I own is the DSiware version, isn't a bad port, just that the checkpoint gimmick is a little annoying :/

Re: Rayman 1
Indeed, try beating Space Mama with only 3 hp, that's the kind of hell the original version put you through.
Re: Rayman 1
I don't even use the map, doesn't show shit besides you and the exit sign, so the map is pretty pointless.you get more life force in dsi version, and a map, so it's a lot less brutal this way.
I am aware that the DSiWare has more health, but I died a few times with Mr.stone, and I had 10 HP (The 'P' ball health), with space mama I had 6 HP (default health), and I didn't really get hit that much
Re: Rayman 1
I cant really work ePSXe that good. Since of the 1.9.0, I cant get the render-texture error and pixel error problems fixed. I have a outdated card so.....OldClassicGamer wrote:Welcome Re-Mix, here is the wonderful tutorial that saved issues all those who had issues:Re-Mix wrote:Erm about the Rayman 1 PC version. I dont know if this is the right place to post this but, I run Rayman 1 with pSX v1.13 and the music track is all screwed up. The music plays for that one quick second and stops. Anybody know how to fix this? I run XP...
Use ePSXe instead of pSX v1.13
Credit goes to Haruka for tutorial. It helped many people, including me.

Try ePSXe v1.7.0 or pSX. pSX works best for me.

Yup. I will translate them if you can give me a link to Jang Hee Won's posts.Raylex wrote:Nor Japanese.

The PlayStation consoles have some of the best d-pads I have ever used.dartofthedavros wrote:PSX's D-pad is brutal, I've gotten blisters by constantly ducking and moving. not as bad as the N64's though *shudders*.Stoney! wrote:Because its SOOOO hard pressing the down button...and its even HARDER to duck AND move at the same time -.-

I think the Saturn's D-Pad is slightly better.technology4617 wrote:The PlayStation consoles have some of the best d-pads I have ever used.dartofthedavros wrote:PSX's D-pad is brutal, I've gotten blisters by constantly ducking and moving. not as bad as the N64's though *shudders*.Stoney! wrote:Because its SOOOO hard pressing the down button...and its even HARDER to duck AND move at the same time -.-

Oh, God, no. Oh--fuck--no. -_- The disc d-pad is like hell under most circumstances.emshomar wrote:I think the Saturn's D-Pad is slightly better.
Again, I would recommend using XEBRA on the emulator front, or better yet, any PS console besides the PS4. What XEBRA lacks in features, it makes up for in compatibility and performance. Never tried pSX, so that might be work a try as well.

Re: Rayman 1
Disc D-pads are comfy and similar to analog sticks, only a bit more stiffer... thatswhatshesaidemshomar wrote:Did you even tryed one controller? Though the PS D-pad is....meh.....The buttons just feel a tad but spread out and they seem too stiff, unlike the D-pad on nintendo consoles and handhelds.
BTW, nice new sig emshomar

Analog>D-Pad
Re: Rayman 1
I heard Joe's voice for the first time a few minutes ago. I closed DOSbox pretty soon after that terrifying experience.
Re: Rayman 1
For the first time ever, I drew Rayman 1 Rayman.
