I would take him, if you catch my drift.
I would have sex with him, if that wasn't clear.

This phrase explains so much of what goes on at that age. I'm not even being sarcastic.
I'm not sure whether they could be considered worth-it or not, since while being in a relationship when you're still a wee chav is very different than what it would be like later on and you might garner a viewpoint on a situation you wouldn't be able to grasp as easily at said later time, I see more negative repercussions associated with it than positive ones.
Aye, relationships during your teens are possibly the stuff of nightmares. Sometimes is fabulous - don't get me wrong - but usually it's just drama and drama and drama.

Recently, I've been making a lot of new friends because I got into Uni. It's fantastic how easy that goes in that environment - there's none of that weird atmosphere that hangs around in secondary school. It's much more like what I was used to in regular life with grown-ups - basically, with regular people. I've also kept in quite good contact with my secondary school friends, which is pretty hard to do as everyone moves out of town or country, but a lot of fun to keep up, as well. Lost a few here and there for strange reasons, but like I said - I gained a lot too.

Indeedy, I've been trying to connect with others a lot lately, but it's just too difficult, all drama. I'm actually feeling quite depressed at the moment due to my lack of social skills, but I'm not going to let myself withdraw and cut off all communication with every other human being like I did last year, no that only made things worse. I'll just give it a few years and hopefully the bullshit of adolescence will wear off a bit by then.

The weird social shit that goes on in highschool is what caused me to slowly make the move to an almost exclusively online social life. It's sucky because hangouts aren't nearly as easy to have, but I've met some truly incredible people that have proven to be way more reliable and overall good friends than anyone I had met through face to face interactions.

I can't express how much I won't ever miss that weird endless teenage drama bullshit that was quite literally unavoidable. Even if you managed to stay out of it for the most part it would find you and gravitate towards you and god forbid you're a neutral party because then you have all sides beating down on you until they find something else to drama over.

Though, I still feel it was infinitely worse in middle school.

And in the end, the bottom line is that it's generally an accepted fact that the teenage years are full of complete bullshit. After mostly innocent childhoods, we are suddenly thrust into a world of drama, teasing, embarrassment, social expectations, mountains of work, bitchy teacher, bitchy peers, angst, and stress. Not that none of this didn't exist in the years prior, but it's definitely at a maximum by the end of elementary or start of middle school.

By the way, agreed, middle school is definitely the largest steaming pile of shit out of all. Cliques are at an all time high and everyone's still between the stage of immaturity and maturity, resulting in a few years of complete crap that few will look back on fondly.

True that.

You could well be in need of the right environment; 'lack of social skills' disappears completely when you're in a place where there's loads of people who are in tune with you.

This only happens if you make it happen. I know people who became more awkward and anti-social as they grew up and went to college.
