Re: Official Nintendo Topic
It has been confirmed Smash Bros for Wii U is coming out November 21st!

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
5th December in Europe.
Also, no Amiibos for Megaman and Zero Suit Samus. My two mains. I'm disappointed.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Cool! Maybe if things go right today, I might be able to save enough money to buy a Wii U.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Not sure if anyone here is interested but Captain Toad also got a release date. It's coming to North America December 5th, though European and Australia gamer's will have to wait until early 2015. It's being priced at $40, I still don't see why the fuck everyone is so hyped for it though with Smash on the horizon, honestly who the hell cares.

Honestly, I don't quite get the hype either, but come on : It has the potential to be a underrated entertainment IMO.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Probably to those who are more favorable of puzzle games instead of the fighting genre?

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
It's literally an addon/expansion pack to the Toad Levels in 3D World. Spending that much money for a new game when Bayonetta 2 and Smash is on the horizon, you'd be a fool to do that.
Possibly, but it still is not worth even $40, it's an addon to 3D World with Captain Toad gimmicks thrown in, I'm not sure why you people are so excited for it.Pirez wrote:underrated entertainment
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Yeah, but you can't expect people to buy what's hot. Maybe someone wants something simpler.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
I'm with Bred's point of view. The fact is that nobody likes all the kinds of game genres that exist in the gaming universe. You can't force someone to play GTA when the individual prefers to play casual puzzle games like Candy Crush Saga; this is only an example I just thought of. So in other words you can't force people that prefer puzzle games like Captain Toad to play a fight game like Super Smash Bros.. If they want to spend 40€ (The price is better than what I initially expected by the way, although I would personally give 20€ for it only, unless the game is much more than what we see in SM3DW) in Captain Toad, then let them do it, its their money. As a player that appreciates the Puzzle genre, I am interested (not hyped though) about Captain Toad but I am also interested in Super Smash Bros since it is the only Fight genre game that I enjoy to play. Dunno when I can buy both games but surely when I have the chance, especially if I find them with really neat prices in the next months.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Okay, where did I say that the individual can't enjoy a different genre? I'm saying I'm not sure why anyone would pay full price for what is essentially an add on to Super Mario 3D World, this has nothing to do with what genre it is in. Rather why the price would be better and you'd get your full money back on Smash. Think about it, $40 for an ADD ON for Super Mario 3D World, or $60, for a game that has enough content to last you a year. Who knows, maybe Captain Toad will have enough content, but it's essentially just one big minigame, that as you said should be priced around at least $20 or Euros. The fact that some individuals are willing to pay near full price of a handheld game towards what is basically an add on to 3D World worries me. If it's there money, it's fine, but individuals try to let others know whether that price is worth it, we inform and educate others, as human beings, that's the end of it. It's like when we tell others to stop buying the yearly CoD games, it's only to inform. These yearly Mario's are becoming too much. And unless they introduce a fully 3D Mario game like Galaxy, I'm not interested. There's no 'forcing' involved here, it's informing/suggestions. Sorry if I sound a little grumpy but if that was really directed towards me I feel that was a silly accusation.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Of course it's their money, but unless you're really rich or hyped like hell for it (for whatever reason), I think that spending $40 on it at launch is completely retarded - to underline Rayfist's point. Additionally, I didn't see him telling/forcing anyone to play Smash instead, it seemed clear that Smash was just being used as a point of reference for a game worth retail price.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
DLCs are inherently inferior to full games, though, so this doesn't really have any relevancy to what Rayfist was talking about, nor does it change the fact that $40 for a DLC is kind of ridiculous.Haruka wrote:I'm with Bred's point of view. Just let people spend their money own way, hell if you wanna see someone fuck up with money, just witness me handling with purchases.

inb4 people think I seriously cancelled my pre-order.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
So you mean in terms of an add-on, not a full game. Sorry for the misinterpretation, had a very bad day yesterday and I'll be taking a while to recover from it.
One thing is for sure: Nintendo still asks similar prices that people could easily give 20 years ago. I think they need to learn with Sony and Steam when it comes to retail prices/digital prices respectively. I hardly see them lowing down prices around here while Sony does after a while. I already see Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time for 20€ for example.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
No idea what this game is about, but nice to see that Metroid still can crop up in other places (though I'd be all for a new 'un, Metroid Fusion has been waiting for a sequel for over a decade at this point.). Never been as fond of the Other M suit, I like how Smash 4 redesigned it slightly, but I've always felt it was too sleek. I preferred the Prime 2/3 look. Complaints aside, an appearance is always nice, keeps one hopeful.
