Don't get me wrong, they're amazing in they're respective franchises but they really don't feel to me like they belong, the clones especially feel forced.
But I really want to know how the hell Shulk mad it into Smash, is his game really that popular? It just seems to me that there are far more interesting characters that could have been put in... like Rayman, or Zero, I'd even have taken Isaac from Golden Sun over Shulk.
Personally, I'm fully convinced Rayman will never make it into smash, I'm surprised they even made a trophy for him. As for Dark Pit, well, he's a clone. Clones don't take up spots of entirely original characters with their own moveset, but are rather just easy to make characters that give just add a few more options to the roster.

I just finished up Black Mesa, which I didn't bother with for two years because I figured my specs would never let it run, but surprisingly they managed even though bits and pieces were laggy. Half-Life is easily among some of my all time favourite games and seeing it fully remastered with all these new changes and updates is fantastic. I think definitely the strongest aspect of this game is that it's based on such an aged game, allowing this remake to put more life and realism into the story and how it unfolds. The research facility looks and acts like a place that could actually be real and at times the atmosphere can be really somber when you see pictures on a wall of people who worked there or items they used before the facility broke down. I also love the newly added in sections or modified areas. Sections of the original game that can be repetitive or a bit boring are more sped up and diverse. The additional dialogue is also pretty fantastic and I loved the small details explaining how certain creatures were named or what they were experimenting with. This is a pure love letter to fans of the original game and they knew exactly what parts to make the most impressive, how to handle the soundtrack, etc. For the first time, the first Half-Life actually feels just as lively and active as its sequel.

The only problem I had with this game is that the HECU wasn't always too fun to battle. They drain your energy way too fast and even though the game always gives you that health back right after, it doesn't feel satisfying to pretty much just have to get attacked in order to win. Sometimes there were way too many at once, other times they were far away and there's no good weapon to reach them with, so you have to choose between somehow luring them over or running straight into their attacks. I also experienced the occasional glitch causing them to think that I left, but seeing as the game isn't fully released yet I don't mind that much.

Overall, this game was just fantastic to play through, and I can't believe that the first Half-Life got such a well designed remake despite the fact that most of the time it kinda gets shoved aside by HL2's fame. Surface Tension has always been among my favourite parts of any game and the fact that that's among the chapters that received the most love from these guys is just top notch.

I'm currently awaiting an email so I can get early access to the Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire demo, in the meantime I played a bit of Jet Set Radio on my computer, great game but god damn I REALLY prefer it's sequel- Jet Set Radio Future, in every single way. EVERY. SINGLE. WAY. I'm not kidding, every single aspect, the gameplay was faster paced and more "real" but still maintained that awesome Jet Set Radio type gameplay. You can complain the really fast gameplay of Future can turn many off, but at the same time the original on Dreamcast (got re-released on other stuff), is TOO SLOW. It feels like I'm on the moon a lot of the time, which you can argue that JSR was never really attempting to be REAL with it's physics, and I'm totally fine with that, but here it's just overexaggerated. And seeing it's 30 fps as opposed to 60 on the sequel, that's already a huge step up. I really dislike nostalgic lovers who claim the original was better with no reasons to back up why, just "I grew up with it". Future is seriously the better title, better level design, much more tight, responsive gameplay, etc.

There are those game series that are all distinctly different from each other, in a GOOD way, Rayman series: 1-3, Arena, Origins Legends, Zelda series: Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, A Link to The Past, etc. But then there are those that rather feel like a downgrade rather then distinctly different from eachother, Jet Set Radio doesn't feel distinctly different from Jet Set Radio Future, it feels like a downgrade. Shit man, even the MUSIC was far better on JSR Future, seriously that game undoubtedly has arguably one of the best soundtracks of any videogame. Jet Set Radio Future was underrated, only because it got so overshadowed by the massive amount of nostalgic fags who preferred the original. Really need to plug in my original Xbox to play that game again, undoubtedly an incredibly underrated game.

I am in love with the Koopalings in Smash. They're so fun to use!

Currently trying to beat Classic mode and All Star mode with every character.

I'm also gonna try the demo to Fire Emblem: Awakening soon.

Hmm, I forgot about Black Mesa, ought to jump back in sometime. Still, I never played HL proper, so I can't really comment meself on the changes, but it's definitely a fun game on its own.

Definitely give it a shot. I think what this game's attempt basically is is giving the same experience as playing the original game for the first time. I've beaten it so many times now that It's kinda lost its magic for me, but this game really knew how to bring that back. The recreated dam area is fucking hot.

I remember when I played Black Mesa I'd end up getting a lot of stutters while playing the game, usually with on screen effects like with those goo enemies that spit on you. Though I should be getting a new GPU sometime soon so that shouldn't be a problem anymore.

I've recently gotten into a video game I used to think had a dumb concept: Kingdom Hearts. But I realized in the first few minutes I played it that it's so much more than just "Final Fantasy by way of Disney"!

It's plotline is fantastically suspensful, it's concept brilliantly symbolic, and gameplay is just the very definition of 'immersive'! As long as you can overlook the fact that X is attack and O is jump; you get used to it in the first level.

It's full of heartbreak, laughter, tears, love, darkness, light, and friendship; and I especially love the religious undertones!

After only a month of playing KH1 and 2, I already have a favorite character: Roxas!

Rayfist wrote:Complaining about Shulk being in the game? Are you for real? Xenoblade Chronicles was a Wii Exclusive game, saying he was out of place is ridiculous. Though I would love to have seen Megaman X as an alternate skin for Megaman but I'm greatful enough with Megaman making it in.

Shulk also has a really fascinating playstyle, I can understand people disliking Wii Fit Trainer and Bowser Jr. making it in, but Shulk is definetly one of the higher up characters next to Megaman and Pacman. He has a really interesting learning curve that makes you switch between different elements mid-battle and can really end up for an awesome match.
I know his game is exclusive to nintendo, and intend to try it out when it's on the be 3ds, but I really just am not sure exactly why he would be in the game. Is Xenoblade really that popular in Japan? Or was it simply to help market a new game like Roy in Melee. Either way, I can't complain when I really love most of the roster.

Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite gaming franchises of all time! However, the series gets incredibly convoluted and ridiculous after KH2.

After KH2? Are you talking about Dream Drop Distance? I have yet to play it, but everyone I ask says it's pretty wonky and confusing.

(Btw, who's your favorite KH character? And what's your favorite world?)

Part of it, the other part is the existence of Coded. My favorite character is a tie between Riku and Axel, and my favorite world... Traverse Town, it's easily my favorite. The amount of detail put into that one world, from Sora seeing someone die in the 2nd District to the Easter egg in the Nephews shop, the world is filled with events and people that I really miss in the franchise (3D had you see like 3-4 NPC'S total, excluding Moggles). I highly recommend if you haven't baught 358/2, BBS, or Re:Coded, to check out the HD remix's for PS3. They contain all final mix versions in the franchise, as well as every canonical game out, excluding 3D.

@dartofthedavros

I love Riku, too! My favorite world is a tie between Twilight Town (because it's Roxas' town), Pride Lands (because Lion King is my fave Disney movie), Halloween Town (because Nightmare Before Christmas is my fave movie in general), and Atlantic (because you're a freaking mermaid in it. Plus, they all have so much detail and fun in them!

I dunno why my fave character is Roxas; Riku has a more developed personality. I suppose because he's the first KH character I ever played as. I'd seen some cutscenes from KH1, but KH2 was the first one I ever played. But I still got the same emotional thrill ride!

I haven't finished KH1, but I have finished KH2 (except for defeating the ever irritating and impossible-to-kill SEPHIROTH!!!!!!! GRRRRR!!!!).

Against my best friend's warning, I've seen half the cutscenes to 358/2 Days. But I haven't play BBS, Coded, CoM, of DDD. I'll be sure to check out the ones you recommended AS SOON as I've finished KH1.

Have you fought Sephiroth, btw? He's freaking TOUGH!!!

Quake Live is now dead. Seriously. Look, you need a FUCKING HIGH END PC for a 1999 game. Now, i know that Betheseda revamped the game to look better, but now it doesn't make sense. It's not fun anymore. Loadouts? Are you serious? You can choose the game's best weapons. FUCKING SHIT. I have a PC, which is good enough to run the game. Passing recommended specs.
3.00 ghz, 3,21 RAM. And i can't even PLAY! It lags so much i can't get pass the loadout screen!
BTW, TF2's maps, yeah they are good. Also, I've been playing Counter-Strike Deleted Scenes. Look it up in Youtube, it's pretty much a Call of Duty in a 1999 look. The game is alright, the AI isn't that good, you have to be like directly watching them, or else they will not come to chase you.

Apparently some eldritch force of the forum raises me from the dead every Halloween, probably because it knows Halloween my favourite holiday, because seriously who doesn't like Halloween? But anyway, I've played a lot of games recently, smash bros 3DS, World of Warcraft, started playing tf2 again, even got Super Meat boy tooo recently but I'm not going to talk about those simply because mere hours ago I finished my first play-through of Borderlands the pre-sequel, and it might be better than Bordelands 2, and it might be one of my favourite games of all time, but it is most certainly... a frigging masterpiece, I seriously adore the pre-sequel because it does so much right and I'm worried people are just gonna overlook it because its a last gen game and another game that came out recently, that is nothing but a poorly made, money-whoring, overhyped, falsely advertised piece of shit Borderlands clone that is trying to steal all its glory when it is clearly the far inferior title. *cough*Destiny*cough*

Anyway, i could go on all day about what the pre-sequel does right, It's comedy is great, I was one of the people who loved Borderlands 2's humour but will admit most of it that wasn't coming from Jack was toilet humour and lolrandommuch, but Pre-sequel seems to minimise the toilet humour at least, 2K Australia's writers did a great job here, for example, early on in the game you have to go into scav territory to find out the location of a signal jammer stopping Jack from getting to Elpis, when you enter the area the two scav leaders conversation is as follows, by the way I'm spoiler tagging it so it doesn't ruin the gag for you if our wanting to get it and don't want to spoil the line for yourself.
["What we got here Red?"
"I dunno, Belly. You tell me!"
"That ain't no new recruit, that's for sure!"
"My thoughts exactly!"
"Reckon there's only one thing to do, yep!"
"Make 'em a cuppa!"
"Yeah! Wait, no! Tear 'em to pieces!"
"That's what I meant!"
]
speaking of writing though, the Story here is actually really excellent, It focuses on Jack's story and how he became the maniacal, cocky, but loveable, egotistical ass of a villain he was in Borderlands 2, short answer, a lot happened, but he was always an egotistical ass. Long answer Jack hires four new vaulters, Athena, the gladiator, the character I played as and the main character in the General Knoxx dlc from the first game, Nisha, the lawbringer, Jack's Girlfriend in Borderlands 2, Willhelm, the enforcer, The first major boss in Borderlands 2, and claptrap, as a mistake, and rightfully so. actually claptrap's really overpowered if the RNG gods are on your side, for example, my friend one hit KO'D the final boss as claptrap with the pirate ship ability Anyway, he's hired you to hunt for a vault, something that is put on hold until the last hour of the game as the lost legion, a military force owned by the gun manufacturer Dahl, being led by colonel T. Zarpedon take over the Helios space station and starts using its giant laser cannon the eye of Helios to try and blow Elpis up, planning to take not only Helios, but half of Pandora with it. So you must team up with Jack, as well as Roland and Lilith (who were conveniently vacationing on Elpis as this is all happening) and Moxxi to take back the moonbase. [ As the game goes on, Jack slowly, more and more becomes unhinged and paranoid, constantly thinking his allies are going to shoot him in the back, after an event when an old ally literally tries to shoot him in the back. Once you get on the moonbase you gather up four scientists to help you who Jack then promptly kills because he thinks one them is a traitor, making Lilith and Moxxi uneasy. You eventually take out Zarpedon, who before being shot in the head by Jack, warns him that she's seen inside the vault and that no one should ever go in there. We also learn here that the eye of Helios is literally an eye, more specifically the eye of the destroyer, the final boss of Borderlands 1, and is being overcharged to get its immense power from the Eridium that recently started spouting out of the ground all over Pandora, Moxxi tells you how to reset the laser so it stops firing at Elpis and goes back to Hyperion control, however, seeing what Jack is becoming, Lilith, Moxxi and Roland shoot Jack in the back, deliberately overheating the eye of helios, causing it to explode and hopefully taking Jack and yourself with it. This causes Jack to completely lose it, proclaiming that once he's found the vault, he's going to use whatever's inside it to "deal with them all in time" before sending you to get to the vault before Lilith can. You do, and after dealing with it's guardian, Jack joins you and inspects the Eridian artifact, its not confirmed but to me it seems to be some kind of device to predict the future, as it shows Jack awakening the Warrior in BL2. However, Lilith arrives and punches the Artifact onto Jacks face, scarring him really badly, and destroying the artifact, she quickly leaves as Jack goes completely nuts, saying how he's going to kill every bandit on Pandora and awaken the Warrior, using it to burn Pandora to the ground. Athena, who has been telling the story to Lilith, Mordecai and Brick after Borderlands 2, says this is when she left Jack's employ, she finishes her story and Lilith orders Athena's execution, she's saved however by an alien who tells our characters that "Now is not the time for bickering. War is coming, and you're going to need all the vault hunters you can get. The credits roll and the post credits scene shows Jack, now wearing his signature mask, strangling Tassiter to death and taking over as CEO of Hyperion, insisting to his new secretary that he should be called Handsome Jack.] I just love the story, i'm always interested in whats going on, Jack's character is so delightful, as are the supporting cast, and even your characters, who get a hell of a lot more story dialogue than previous vault hunters had.

Really, all I can say about Bordelands the pre-sequel is that its a masterpiece, I love it to death, I'm going to start my second playthrough on True vault hunter mode tommorow, I can't wait to see what we're going to get for DLC, I hope there's another bunkers and badasses dlc, I think the two dlc characters have being confirmed, Jack's body double and The Barroness, apparently Sir Hammerlock's sister.
Just, go buy this game if you liked the first two, especially the second one, it's worth every penny.

I don't understand why the fuck people hate Destiny so much, nearly everyone who trashtalks it online uses overly impassioned non-criticisms and bias. Actually, everyone I've directly spoken to who doesn't like it hasn't even played it. I'm not saying that there's nothing to criticise, but rarely ever do I ever hear anyone actually manage to articulate themselves. From my own experience with Destiny, I'd say that the majority of the hate it gets is formed through rumours spread by people who hate FPSs and by Borderlands fags. As a disclaimer, I like Borderlands.
