OK, thats off topic...and King Kong's done, was badass, and had the Ancel charm..now he has no excuses!!! MAKE RAYMAN 4 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW..

He's developing Beyond Good and Evil 2, and if it does well there will be a Beyond Good and Evil 3, as originally planned as a trilogy.

I don't know if you guys should get your hopes up for a Rayman 4 by Ancel.

Please don't kill me for this...but to be honest, since Ancel is working on BGE2, I forgive the lack of R4. X3 Seriously, Rayman had lots of games(even if some were...not so good), but Jade had only 1, and even that single one made history in my eyes. Give her a chance too! 83

Ever since I heard though, I also forgave him for not working on Rayman 4, but I do blame Adrian Lacey for what happened to the Rabbids.

Well to tell you the truth as much as I like Rayman, and enjoyed his games first, I would prefer a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil. That was such a good game with wellmade story, yet it left with a cliffhanger that hasn't been resolved.

According to Surfer Girl's blog when she was still writing it, the only reason Beyond Good and Evil 2 was even started was that Ancel was so mad that Ubisoft wanted to turn Rayman 4 into a party game that he threatened to quit, and they gave him Beyond Good and Evil 2 to calm him down, despite bad sales from the first one.

I personally don't blame him, this is the man that pretty much is responsbile for becoming what it was, built on his game and character Rayman, not to mention he was hired on in 1990 to spruce up their graphics to even have Ubisoft to be a studio with a chance. They wouldn't even have made it into the 3d market if it weren't for his design sensibilites with Rayman 2.

Yet Ubisoft screwed him over the first time when they didn't even attempt to market Beyond Good and Evil and then the second time they took his character and his game away from him with Rayman 4.

I'm not sure I like how corporate Ubisoft has gotten over the past 6 years.

Sadly, that is the often-appearing danger of companies...profit becomes the main point, above everything else. I also believe that BGE would have sold much better, had there been a decent marketing. I'm confident it would have made it's place on top of the charts quite fast. I've never encountered a person before, whom after getting through the perhaps discouraging first glance, wasn't captivated. BGE is one of those games that might not be truly revolutionary, but has more than enough to charm players. No wonder it was praised everywhere. The musical score, the entire level designs, the loveable characters and actual impressions of Jade made it a game that would be hard to forget to those who had played it once.

Ancel was pretty right about making a scene though. I'd probably act the same way if a character I invented, and an idea I had, would suddenly be twisted into something I didn't approve of. Obviously, if I wanted to turn it into that, I would have. Ancel made R1-2 by doing what he wanted, and the results are quite clear, as Rayman 2 is definitely a landmark in gaming history.

And Ubisoft, no matter power or wealth, is still not in the condition to just let go of Ancel. He's one of those people who can make gold with his thoughts. If we view it through profit even, it'd still be bad if he ended up signing up to a rival studio, perhaps.

In any case though, I'm awaiting the sequel to my all-time favourite eagerly, and hope the best for Ancel in the main time. ;3

BG&E is MUCH less important to me than Rayman, but I guess Ancel seized his chance to make it because he knew he'd be able to make R4 eventually.
