Double-Post, but could someone please kill LarryDendser, it's vandalising the off-topic forum.

I saw the report and it was reported already to the admins, but we need to wait for them.

Hooooly cow... the Rayman fanworks forum is being spammed to death right now... the spammers are feveShegree and QueseblesBame. They've made a ton of threads, the whole first page is now filled with spam.

Blimey, these 'bots have been active, we're up to four and a half pages of spam in the fanworks section.

I recall in 2010 or so, I actually requested there be at least one moderator active from the other side of the planet for this exact reason.

I think it got stated before that it isn't the Moderators and Global Moderators who have got the power to get rid of the bots. The only thing we can do is naming them in a very specific topic from the secret forum and waiting for the Administrators to delete them.
With this, it is the second time we clarify the reason of taking time to get rid of bots.

If that was the case, then it must've been in a separate conversation.
Why don't moderators have the ability to delete threads, or to at least move them to a hidden 'trashbin' part of the forum only viewable to the staff?

I believe the bots use optical character recognition for the CAPTCHA code. Any ideas on how to make the registration impossible for bots? At one forum I saw this one way to confirm the registering guy is a human, where they had to type the first and last 3 letters of a random pile of numbers and letters. I don't know if it helps that much, but the forum has had no bots at all.

I think the system that has been used works as an effective filter, but as long as new bots are reported, they can't ever more appear in our forum.

Curious, when I registered, I think they were using a question for human verification.

Yes, the same applies for me. I think it was something Rayman-related, too.

I actually do delete them but it takes a while especially when they are being invasive like the more recent ones have been.

The bots attacking today seem to continuously ooze spam, as opposed to offload then disappear.

I think the French forums are having it worse than we are.
