Re: Future Rayman games
Of course it'll be a spin off like Mario and Luigi, Paper Mario and Sonic Chronicles are, but I don't really see why a Rayman RPG wouldn't work, if it was done to be like really good RPGs like Earthbound it'd be fantastic.
Re: Future Rayman games
If things were done correctly, I also wouldn't mind to see a Rayman RPG.

Re: Future Rayman games
Can't think of any Rayman game element that would translate well into such a completely different genre though, and if it would just do everything differently, it might as well not have anything to do with the franchise.
In my mind the series doesn't really need spin-offs (unless maybe if they try the Rayman M thing again and really put effort into it), and even if it's going to have more, an RPG would be a very odd direction to go in, even if some platformer series have went there before. There's probably no way Ancel would be included in its development anyway, and Ubisoft would likely let some other studio take care of it, which might result in a game that completely lacks the charm and creativity of the original series. Maybe they would even try to make it like some kind of Japanese series because of the mass market appeal.

Re: Future Rayman games
The Rayman games have always been straightforward and enjoyable platformers, and I’d like it to stay that way.
Re: Future Rayman games
I agree, I'm a Rayman fan because his game series are platformers essencially.

Re: Future Rayman games
Essencially? Is that some British/American spelling I weren't aware of?
Here's something that recently ended up in my mind. Do you think run button/stick mash dash/whatever would make sense in future Rayman 3D platformers? I'm honestly not sure about it. It allows for great off-road object placement, but... on the other hand unless used "straight forward" literally (which I suppose we do not want), it end up very problematic to use effectively.

Re: Future Rayman games
Origins is very momentum-based compared to previous games, so maybe if they'd make a 3D game the same way it would make sense to have a run button.

I was considering having a run button in ROTD, and I'm certain I'll add it in, as a power you receive.El Dango wrote:Origins is very momentum-based compared to previous games, so maybe if they'd make a 3D game the same way it would make sense to have a run button.

I understand, but I'd rather them not modify the 3d formula to the extent they did the 2d.El Dango wrote:Origins is very momentum-based compared to previous games, so maybe if they'd make a 3D game the same way it would make sense to have a run button.

Re: Future Rayman games
I Gotz Another Idea!
The game will start out with peace an harmony... then Mr.Dark pops up from the shadows, and starts to run.
He suddenly starts to capture lums!He runs past many places and finally to his tower! Then of course
The "Rayman (6) Dark Shadows/The Haunted" Logo Pops up. It will be a game with multiple People/Things to
Chose to be...
Levels:
1 The Forest
2 The Lums
3 The Pirates
4 The Boat
5 The Knaaren
6 The Dark
7 The Garden
8 The Doctor
9 The Globox
10 The Escape
11 The End
Bonus Levels:
Pirate Shoot-out
Lum Catcher
Black Lum Exterminator
Shell Racing
Cut scenes:
0 Intro
1 Entering the forest
2 Meeting The Lums
3 A not so happy Group
4 Run! I mean, Paddle!
5 Desert of the weak
6 Nothing to be afraid of!
7 Finding the Doctor
8 A dastardly trick
9 Saving of the Friend
10 Run! For real this time!
11 Credits
Bosses:
1 Tree Master
2 Swarmingerish (A.K.A Swarm)
3 Robo Henchman 2000
4 Robo Henchman H2o
5 King Knaaren
6 Mr.Dark (Phase 1)
7 Blad the Leaf
8 The Doctor
9 The Protecter
10 The Light of Mr.Dark
11 Mr.Dark (Phase 2 And 3)
Playable Things:
Rayman (duh)
Globox
Ly
Teensies
Rabbid (Yes,They shall be in it)
I Guess That "lums" it up!

Re: Future Rayman games
I'm pretty sure that there will be 3rd 2D Rayman made with Ubiart before Rayman 3D.
Re: Future Rayman games
Or maybe even just a 2D Rayman with 3D TV support.
Re: Future Rayman games
That's actually cool idea and might work.Smega wrote:Or maybe even just a 2D Rayman with 3D TV support.

3D is a pointless, nauseating gimmick.

Re: Future Rayman games
Oh really? In that case, you should call Martin Scorsese, Guillermo del Toro, Peter Jackson and James Cameron, and inform them of this. When faced with your rock-solid logic, I’m sure they’ll immediately see the error of their ways, and vow to shoot all of their films in good old 2D from now on!Master4lyf1 wrote:3D is a pointless, nauseating gimmick.

Re: Future Rayman games
3D is often annoying (I especially dislike it on animated movies) but I think it's very really suitable for big action titles, namely the directors you listed, and of course, Marvel.
Re: Future Rayman games
As long the CGI is cleverly used in a movie, I have no complains.

We're talking about stereoscopic 3D, not CGI.Haruka wrote:As long the CGI is cleverly used in a movie, I have no complains.

In honesty though, that's what I think of 3D, some might enjoy it, but I just can't, it physically sickens me.
