Thanks Droolie for all your hard work! I hope the game can continue to be fixed with the help of the community.

Wow, you've done Trojan work on this Droolie! Thank you for all your efforts, and I'll definitely have to try it for myself soon! :D

Great to see this done, and just in time for the Year of the Rabbid! BWAAAAAAH!

But, how do I access War of the Worlds? I can access the cutscenes, but what about fighting the Rabbids?

Glad to see people are enjoying this already :)

Some of the "entry points" (the numbers between parentheses) lead to playable sections. For War of the Worlds, it's DEMO_GuerreDesMondes (1) and prez_E3_ruines_lapins (5). :)

Great job Droolie. It's simply unbelievable that so much content has been discarded... Ubisoft is probably in the situation they are in because of stupid decisions like that over the last few years.

Incredible work, Droolie! I can't wait to give this a try and discover more of the prototype. :D

Enjoying a lot of the fixes but a lot of the supposedly fixed maps are crashing or freezing for me. Also still crashing when I take damage. Anyone know why this is?

Coming back to this image…

How sure are we that the one on the right isn't supposed to be a "Plum" rather than a Lum? It looks a bit like an anthropomorphized plum, and it has one eye whereas Lums should have two…

Thank you guys for the comments! I've been putting a lot of time into this, so it makes me really happy to see all my work isn't for nothing! :D

Yeah, there are some maps that are so broken they are sadly unfixable... Still, I'm currently working on a new version that should make it even more stable, among other things. I already fixed a crash when taking damage from the Rabbids that chase you while you're carrying the Teensy in the FPP_Exterieur area. Could that be the one you meant?

With that theory, this would be a plum medallion :D

When this medallion is complete, you're transported to the "wear shop", a magical-looking place (lots of tiny lights floating around you) where you can buy a part of a disguise in exchange for some of the Lums you collected. That's apparently how you would unlock the costumes in this game. :)

Anyway, this is definitely this game's version of Lums :) Its object name is always "Lum" or "Lums" and there is a lot of dialogue from Monik/Monique that mentions them - in French, where this plum/Lum mistake is a lot less likely. There's even some lore about how they became like this!
And a little bonus: it seems Lums are also used as some sort of energy unit, if we're to believe this description of a Bipod that feels straight out of BGE:
Ceci est un Bipod VXL série 8. Ce modèle est armè d'un canon à proton d'une puissance condensée de 50 Klums à la seconde. Une espèce d'oeil sur pattes en somme.
Plums are also in the game, as bouncy white spheres named "prune". :P

Thank you very much for your continued hard work Droolie, i greatly appreciate everything, i cannot put into words how much it all means to me.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you figure out this particular game mechanic? is it in the game's code? that's very interesting, makes sense from a game design standpoint too that rayman would be gradually unlocking pieces to complete his disguises.

I think it's incredible that we can finally discover what Rayman 4 could have been like thanks to the leaks and the colossal amount of work done! Congratulations! \o/

Fair enough! Just thought I'd double-check! So then there's actually an in-game explanation for why they're different, instead of a random style change like in Rayman 3. That's a nice touch! Hopefully they were going to go back to normal at the end… The makey-uppy taxonomic names are a BGE-ish touch too!

Fifty kilolums per second, nice! So clearly Lums were infinite even back then, it's not an Origins innovation! (Well, Rayman M already made it pretty clear, but that was mostly ignored…) EDIT: Wait, just noticed that the last line of dialogue above implies they're becoming a lot more finite!
Also, "armè"? :mefiant:

Texturing work not done yet, then? Or were they already considering turning them into pigs? :mefiant:

EDIT: Also, I guess "Monik/Monique" continued the tradition of "Murfy/Murphy" of being a guide with a five-letter weirdly-spelled name beginning with M, where that weird spelling was inconsistently applied even in official material :mefiant:

From what I've seen, the script is riddled with grammar errors, to a point it's quite terrible. Hopefully a sign that none of that was too definitive... :oops2:
