Wow, I like the Knaaren Frescos and the desert-like background scrapped in Rayman 3. I wonder if it was to belong to the Desert of the Knaaren too.

I particularly like the fresco that shows the Leptys towering over a group of Knaaren, with the suns shining above his shoulders. And I can’t overstate just much I love Globox’s Beetlejuice skin.

I remember to watch one episode of the Beetlejuice cartoon as a kid. It is a pity this skin is exclusive to the Xbox/GC version of Rayman Arena.

I liked that one a lot too. I also like the one with them showing a, what, Womp-rat? ... anyway, showing a Womp-rat his place on the fields. It kind of shows the non-brutal aspect of the Knaaren; they can also be peaceful - to their own and to their cattle, that is.

So that Globox was based on Beetlejuice, eh? I just thought it was a Spaniard Globox or something. Heh.

It’s called a Mawpaw, or a Bonton, or a Flabar. Take your pick.

That is brilliant, it shows once again that Rayman 3 originally had more connections with Rayman 2's style.

It's a pity they abandoned these designs, they would have given the game more visual continuity with Rayman 2, and they have the right mix of fantasy and queerness that gave Rayman 2 levels their magical atmosphere.

Eric Pelatan (first link) and Sylvaine Jenny (second link) were the two artists responsible for the backgrounds of the original game.
