Please don't ever mention that topic again. Your passive-aggressiveness is not remotely ambiguous.
What's wrong with that?? If you want me to stop, I'll stop.

Not sure if this counts, but the best version of Wine for running the Windows version of Rayman 3 is 1.3.22 - any other version will cause some problem, somewhere. I hope that by posting this, I'll prevent someone from having headaches trying to run it on GNU/Linux…

I've asked this before, but: why is the PAL version of PlayStation R1 linked instead of the NTSC-U version, when it doesn't even get something as basic as the proper speed down?

And, anyway, PAL ROMs should typically be avoided regardless, as they usually are poorly optimized (or in the case of R1, not optimized at all), and always have poorer framerates, etc.
Here's a fully working link of the PlayStation version of R1 that isn't PAL and homosexual.
And before anyone tells me that the game runs at full speed with "PAL emulation": it doesn't. The game was simply never optimized for PAL systems, and will lag even on an actual console.

While I do agree that the NTSC-U version is superior, I actually believe that the game was originally developed for PAL regions. My reasoning for this is two-fold: 1) Ubisoft is a French company, so they would use the SECAM colour encoding (which is 50hz). 2) If you look carefully at the animation when Rayman touches an exit sign, it syncs up with the sound effects at 50hz (the *ting* sound at the end plays at the same time that Rayman's teeth twinkle), while at 60hz it finishes before the music.
Regardless, I still think the NTSC version plays better, although I will always hate the American introduction.

I’m in the Europe, why should I use NTSC discs? I have the PAL version of R1.

I think the intended speed was originally 60hz, given that that's the speed the region-free Jaguar version runs at and that the timer in Designer only works properly in 60hz, but that the sound effects were then made to sync up properly with the PAL version, essentially shaping the sound design around a speed that wasn't originally intended, but the one that was native to Europe. This is speculation on my part of course, but it seems like the most likely scenario.
Also, most objective listeners actually prefer the American intro due to the more passionate (and arguably better) voice acting, though there admittedly aren't very many of those.

Does anybody know why Rayman on Jaguar is running at a 186,000 miles per second?

You can also of course just swap that intro if you'd like to

Maybe because you didn't set a frame limiter?

Like, unplayable fast or slightly too fast? That's what I'm asking. If it's the former, do what emshomar said and turn on the frame limiter. If the latter, fuck.

All the more reason to link to the NTSC ROM.

Ill try the frame limiter. And that reminds my of the AT&T help line. (Have you tried turning it on and off? Yes. Did it work. No. Well fuck.)

I tried swaping intros for Tomba to have Japanese opening and English text from US version and I couldn't do it. Can anyone help me swap video files?

Rayman 2 Revolution -
PCSX2 v. 1.1
I'd like to present my settings of emulator for usual computers, so the fastest configuration as possible
Use last stable release of emulator from main site for better smooth of games.
Turn on Texture Filtering! - fixes shadows in game
Settings:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/t3curde0a2fwv ... config.png
Fixes: (on fast computers you can try disable this or above option)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nzoybcrn1hz8huq/r2%20cfg.png
Strongly tested.
FPS Speed fix. Guide:
Since gamefixes causes little slow down of usual 60fps we can adjust fps manually by Turbo Mode.
Set in GS tab Turbo Adjust at 105% and activate it by disable frame limiter (if enabled [you have 60 fps]) by F4 key and press Tab to activate Turbo mode (62,94 FPS). Now you have better smooth. Remeber that you can't activate Turbo Mode if you have frame limiter (60 FPS [50 PAL]) enabled. See at console when changing settings, shows all what you're changing. Misc =>Show Console

Rayman 1 works perfectly in PCSXR by the way. As far as I can tell, it works straight out of the box on any version compiled since at least October 2012 (when I first played), which should include the latest stable version
