It could be much worse, trust me.

Yeah rayman could end up like the new gen sonic. And that would be a total shock.

Mr Shade says that the first episode of Rayman Origins probably won’t be out until next year. I don’t really care, as long as it actually IS going to get released.

Spring seems more likely to me.

Fair enough. If that's the case that'll give me more time to save some of my wages for a PS3 and get a good deal when I do come out to get one.

Where did you read that Spiral?
If that happens, I hope that PC gets released at the same time as the HD Consoles.

Thanks, you know that I am not registered in the official forums.
In that case is a good signal that they are fully focused on the game.
I usually say: "I prefer that a game gets delayed instead of releasing now and being a huge crap on its quality."

Point taken. And speaking of which, Sonic is another one of many characters that I hope can finally get his reputation improved. Sonic Team has been dragging the poor guy's name through the mud this past decade. Heh. Kind of like Rayman in that sense too! It feels like this year(and next year) is going to be great for giving hope to characters that desperately need help like that... Sonic, Rayman, heck even Mickey Mouse is getting another chance. At this point I only hope that the end result for them will be successful... it's no exaggeration that the future of all of their careers depends on how good their next games are...
Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be able to get a PS3. So that means I won't get to play Rayman Origins when it launches. I think I'll jump on the bandwagon that's crossing their fingers for an eventual Wii release... I'm not sure I want to shell out $300 just for one or two games, even if it
is Rayman. As long as I get to play it eventually... I think I could stand the wait.
I guess I'd also be fine with a PC release that's compatible for the Mac, though I really prefer playing games on consoles. Wonder what I'm gonna do...
Another month passes with no news on Origins. It'd sure be nice to get an update at some point... but maybe they don't want to release too much of what they're doing because of the nature of the game. It is made in a very artistic manner, with the art as pretty much the basis of the game's structure. And since it's episodic, maybe they don't want to spoil stuff that might be in the game so that it's more of a surprise...? Bah, I don't know. Maybe they just forget to update the blog, or really don't have anything else they want to show off yet. Who knows? I know I sure don't... though I kinda wish I did.

The same for me. The PS3 catalogue doesn't convince me, there are very few games that I have interest but it doesn't reach the 5. I really doubt in getting a PS3, at least I'm praying for a PC version.

Wow you guys are finnicky. There are dozens of great PS3 games and hundreds of decent ones, and now it’s been hacked too. I really don’t think it’s an unreasonable investment to make. Maybe it was four years ago, but certainly not now.

I won't/can't buy a PS3 because I don't have enough money at the moment. It means I'll potentially be missing out on Rayman Origins' initial release

I'm just not interested in a vast majority of the games available for the PS3. That's why I've decided against getting one when I could use the money for other things. =P
What I'd like most is a Wii port. That's the only current-gen console I own at the moment, and I'm actually fine with that. Lots of people have been asking for ports of different kinds, so I wonder if Ubi Art will really do it, or decide it's too much trouble. And if they
did do it, when would the ports be released? Would it not be available until all the episodes are released, or would each episode be released at different, later times...?
I wonder, but I don't have any way of knowing.
Because they haven't updated their blog in three months.

I'm sorry to say, but I don't think a port to the Wii will be happening

The Wii just doesn't have enough processing power for Full HD graphics I'm afraid.
And if you're not willing to spend a lot of money on a new console, you could always try to buy it second hand after all.

It's hard to say anything without knowing what their game engine is like, but I wouldn't imagine it'd be impossible to port Origins to Wii. They say on the RO website that "Wii, PC, iPad, 3DS" are currently "to be considered", and I don't think they'd say that if it weren't on the cards to some degree.
Like most downloadable games, Origins' best shot at turning a good profit is exposure - it won't have the same pull as a AAA console game, so making your audience as wide as you possibly can is a great way to make extra bucks. I'm sure UbiArt are thinking carefully about this.

I would love to get this on the 3DS, I'm really considering to get my mits on one when they're released in March.

I agree completely with your reasoning here.
