I don’t agree with that ‘dark’ setting. Certainly the game got more serious but dark? I don’t think so.

Forcing little children to work in dangerous mines is dark I'd say.

Clearly the bad ending is very dark.

The bad ending is non-canon. So again, not sure where the darkness is but that's ok, we can all have various definiions.

That's why they named the level that way.

The part that scared me the most in Rayman 2 was that Robopirate head DRM glitch that always jump scared me, I was always afraid of playing the game with the fear of that head appearing suddenly any time in-game

Oh this. Yeah I didn't look deeply into this which is why I'm not that bothered by it. Hmmm....but isn't the Cave of Bad Dreams inside of Rayman's head? Imagine, a dream within a dream!

I was thinking the same when it was asked in TTQ the differences between the Rayman 2 maps. Why is it even in the map, if it isn't a physical place?

That may be one of the few things in which Revolution makes more sense than the original Rayman 2 - you cannot replay the Cave in Revolution, which indeed alludes to it not being a physical place in the world. However, in the original Rayman 2, it has lums, so they had to allow it to be replayed, including the boss battle with Jano (since some of the lums are scattered around the arena).

Rayman DS gotta be the best port. It's got such beautiful graphics and the soundtrack is just so... good...

I can't imagine Rayman going back and tell Jano "Hey! Wanna 1v1 me again?

"

I feel like if I played R1 with a keyboard, it would be unuseable by space mama lol
Hah. I've broken my share of cheap keyboards n my younger days. Now I mostly can keep my anger in check.
Reminds me of the KMG Associates walkthrough that put a health warning on the map just before Space Mama, that it had been known to "send people into fits of passion" resulting in them "breaking their game machines"

Well, he does stick his tongue out at him at the beginning of the boss fight in R3 GBA, doesn't he?
