What's happened in Norway is really awful, but I can bet people will give more shit about the fact that Amy Winehouse is found dead.

Yesterday was by far the darkest day in my country's history since World War II ended. The entire nation is united in grief after the atrocities commited by right-wing extremist Anders B. Breivik at Government Square in Oslo, and at the political summer camp on Utøya. Our thoughts are with the friends and families of those inflicted, and of course with the people who are still fighting for their lives in the hospitals. We are a small nation, and when a catastrophe of this magnitude hits us it hits devastatingly hard. But by helping each other, and with the support of the rest of the world, we will get through this and prove that it is possible for our society to experience something like this without compromsing our democracy, our unique openness, our freedom, or any of the other things that make Norway such a fantastic country to live in.

What does it matter if Amy winehouse has died? We all saw this coming. Though, I did find her last performance a little entertaining.

I learnt about this in the end of the afternoon. To be honest I was already expecting this to happen soon or later, knowing her health historical.

Well said Tobbe, my thoughts are with you. On a related note, I don't think video games are to blame...

Of course they aren't. It's too early to say what the real reason behind the attacks is, but video games have nothing to do with it. It's not like they ever do, anyway.

Also, from Wikipedia:

On the morning of Sunday 24 July 2011, a police operation was conducted against an industrial house at Rødtvet, and six people were arrested. The police have confirmed that the operation was in connection with the attacks two days earlier, but held back details.

Of course video games haven't played any role in this. These actions were the result of Breivik's delusions and extreme political views. He has been planning this in detail for many years, and I would be surprised if he isn't soon diagnosed with a serious mental illness.

Some people here have claimed that he might not be mentally ill, but I seriously doubt it. While it's certainly not impossible to be a horrible person without being nuts, this man's actions were completely insane, didn't make any sense and couldn't possibly achieve anything.

There must be something very seriously wrong in this person's mind. Many people hold political views similar to his, but only a very tiny fraction of those have the potential to commit mass murder because of their convictions.
