I'm slowly reaching the end of the game, however I'm going back to get all the Lum medals and time trials.

Hey, it's since a while I didn't go to the forum. Oh well, I got RO this friday so I wanted to share here my feelings about this game.

OMG, I'm not even at the end of the game and I'm already amazed. The graphics, the smooth moves, I find it excellent. The further you are, the most epic action you have in the level, I really like this point.

What is that glitch you are talking about? I finished the world 5 and I now need to find "something" before continuing. (I'm not telling what, as I know some people like Haruka don't want spoilers.) Just to know if I passed it or if it's something terrible I'll have to face later...Because until now I could pass the levels with some difficulties, but not enough to make me stuck for hours. D:

If it wasn't the badass robot pirates and Admiral Razorbeard, I think I would hesitate to say if I prefer Rayman 2 or Rayman Origins. Really, at first I wasn't being that excited for the game, but since I got it, the game never stoped to amaze me, it's excellent. :D

Clara, you can write up spoilers as long you put them into transparent text between brackets ;), like this:

Anyways, do you know if Mr. Dark is the true final boss in this game or not? Is he even in the game??
He's in the game, but...only as the magician, he never changes into his Dark attire.
He's not the final boss, however, you'll have to chase him through a level which YOU WILL DIE A LOT IN, it's a good thing they abolished the lives system, finally, you'll end up chasing Mr. Dark on Moskito-back.

The true final boss is Big Mama.
Pretty sad dude. So its all a joke about the magican in Rayman 1? The magican talks about the evil Mr. Dark and then he proves to be the good side of Mr. Dark himself. Just silly! :D
And also, pretty sad that they scrapped the final showdown with Mr. Dark. The music was perfect and I could imagine that final battle.
His good side? I'd think of him more as an impersonator lol

But yea it was kind of a bummer that there was no true final showdown, but not so much to make me stop loving it XD
Yeah, it's a great game. 2D with Betilla, the Magican, Livingstones, Hunters and more. It reminds me of how much I loved Rayman 1. But the final boss is not epic at all. And you really don't get rewarded for beating it 100%. And I would wish they had more references to Rayman 1 like the"!" sign where Rayman said "YEAH!" when completing a level or I would simply love to see the sliding levels of Rayman 1, so much fun. Anyways, is the level you chase Mr. Dark when he is on the flying ship?
Yes, I'm a little disappointed that they didn't include the '!' signs, but it's a minor complaint really. The game still oozes Rayman 1 in almost every facet.

Regarding the items inside Mr Dark's coat, is it possible that the red boxing glove is actually Rayman's telescopic fist? Perhaps Mr Dark stole it from him after the events of Rayman 1, hence why he didn't have it in Rayman 2 or Rayman 3 and still doesn't have it in Origins? Just a thought.

He didn't have it in Rayman 2, but he most certainly had it in Rayman 3.

He has it in R3. If you look closely you can see his fist floating back to him.

I didn't know you would get a Wii soon. :D You could tell us when you get the game, whatever the version you choose.
I was talking about the game itself – we’ve had the Wii for ages, but I’ve hardly ever played it, as most of the games don’t interest me.

Saw a clip on Youtube where the player actually did it, and he said a generic 'get more skull teeth' message, despite the fact you already have all the skull teeth! I think the developers messed up
Well, there goes another hope of figuring out what’s going on.
K.NARREN wrote:Yeah, I don't know why Ubi made such a u-turn on so many things during development (much like they did with a lot of their products. Raving rabbids for example.) One friend suggested that the biggest change may be because of ubi art- they want to get their money back on it and thus a full game with lots of advertising just might do the tricks, which makes sense. Perhaps this meant a lot of ideas meant for the episodic version had to be entirely trimmed down and out as the production sped up. I'm really hoping that's the answer, it would be more reasonable.
I don’t think the exposition being dropped had anything to do with the decision to make Origins a retail game – all of the dialogue was actually recorded and can still be found among the files on the discs, so it looks like it was cut at the last minute. The ESRB’s summary of the game included some of the dialogue that appears to have been cut from The Reveal, like ‘No one wanted to share my Boogers on a Stick’, so maybe the build they got their hands on actually had that scene still intact.
K.NARREN wrote:Oh, basically- if you're refferring to me, I meant the posters in the reveal room. When we first see the magician, there are posters of the real mr dark as he probably would have appeared in origins. the hat is slightly wider at the top, the arms are long and skinny and he's in a variety of poses. If you mean someone who was talking about the art book, then I hope he's in there too. ]
My mistake – when you mentioned ‘the art of origins’, I thought you were talking about ‘The Art of Origins’, which is the actual name of the art book. [You’re right, those posters do look a bit different from the Magician – the hat and arms are particularly strange, as they look just like Jano’s or Polokus’s. If the Magician really is just a fanboy, then I guess the developers have already worked out how they want Mr Dark to appear in the next game.]
K.NARREN wrote:I imagine this is something to bring up in a post mortem interview if we ever get the chance. Will we ever get the chance? This is the question on everyone's lips here right now, and I know I'm dying to see the answer.
Not sure if you know this already, but a few months ago, we managed to arrange an interview with the developers through Wuigi (a contact at Ubisoft). The problem is that we selected our twenty questions and sent them in before we knew how ambiguous the villain’s identity was going to be left in the final game. Even so, some of the questions do touch upon the issue of continuity and returning characters, so there’s still a chance that the interview will yield some answers.
K.NARREN wrote:Another thing I've been wondering is how the website mentions Jano- but as far as I know we never get to see the bubble dreamer become him. Are there any references to this in the game in the same way as the reveal is done in subtle stuff in the background?
Jano isn’t in the game, though it would have made sense for him to show up in the Land of the Livid Dead, which seems to be part of the Cave of Bad Dreams (or vice versa). Still, I like that they went to the trouble of expanding upon a character who hasn’t been seen in the last twelve years, even if they couldn’t a way to fit the new information into the game. I’d love to get my hands on any other bits of irrelevant Rayman mythology they might have written up – I’ve heard that people working on games, TV series or films with a world-building element often keep all the canonical lore in a ‘bible’ that they use to keep track of everything.
K.NARREN wrote:Another question because I haven't sat through the entire game (still kinda want to keep the game itself a surprise :V) is-

[- Does the magician dressed as mr dark, as on the website, ever actually turn up to taunt rayman in the game? If not that seems like a major let down. How about the fact that art of mr dark always has him with items in his cloak now? Was he going to sell rayman stuff throughout the game? Does it ever turn up in game? -]
[No, the Mr Dark figure seen in the website and the second trailer doesn’t actually appear in the game. I guess the developers are sort of relying on the surrounding media (sites and trailers) to supplement the story so that they don’t have to fit it all into the game itself, which is a bit of a pity. I’m puzzled by this too, as it completely undermines The Reveal for anyone who just picks up the game without prior knowledge. As for the items under his cloak, my guess is that some artist noticed that he looked like a spiv (a sort of black-market, back-alley salesman) with his cloak spread, and decided to add some illegitimate-looking items as a joke.]

This is quite strange, because I passed this zone without any glitches...I just died once due to surprise when it was the first time trying that level...

Oo" I hope you'll be abble to pass this...

Not everybody seems to get the glitch, but still too many people do. I hope I'll be able to pass it aswell. I'm going to try with a new savefile this time. With some luck, the glitch will be resolved this way. I'm still awaiting a response from Uplay's Q&A.

Big Mama is Voodoo Mama after Bubble Dreamer had nightmares: http://raymanorigins.fr.ubi.com/dailybu ... itionNum=4
So I wouldn't think so.
