Evidently I should have put an extra line break before my 'C'. Still, it should have been obvious from the fact that there was a line break at all, considering that the two sentences were related and should have gone on the same line!

Far be it for me to tell you how to analyse your own writing, but without proper context that 'C' did not seem like a 'C' at all - there wasn't much indication that you were planning to revert to the state before BadGuy came along and messed us all up. I should have noticed your clues, for that I am sorry. I hope you will forgive me someday.
