- A purple one that throws barrels in secret place
- a red one in that place
- The one that throws barrels
- Two(?) in the secret mushroom place
- Four Pirates in the room before the machine.
- 3 Purple ones on the drop down
- unlimited parachuting guys
So, I may have missed some, but I'll say... Infinity+14?

Ah yes, you were waaaay off Xenon. There are only 5, and one of them only throws barrels (he helps you ). To be precise, there are 4 purple, 1 red who throws barrels (well, on DS anyway, but I'm pretty sure it's just a port of the PC/N64 version).
