Very good understanding!
I really needed this, thank you
No problem, it cheered me up too
I certainly feel the same about this version. Ubisoft Shanghai did a great job of reinventing the game, and while some interesting content had to be cut, at least the additions are good and the final result feels polished and cohesive.Hugo wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 10:50 am I didn't realize this. I grew up with the PS version. I really like the modifications, they feel very purposeful, unlike the clumsy efforts to expand the world in RR. I suppose when you are challenged with making the game smaller, you have constraints that force careful design, but I still feel a real artistic flair. And then there is the most dramatic and popular modification, the Razorbeard fight.
Recently, I've seen alternate versions of games like ports and reboots, where no effort has been made to enhance the experience in terms of design, nor do they address existing bugs, and the only changes made are the addition of gimmicky bonus features to attract attention. I'm grateful to Ubi Soft Shanghai for demonstrating what is possible by trying to understand the intention behind the design and enhance it.
I would expect the result to be much better than Rayman DS.Rsandee wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 6:58 pm With all of these innnovations with GBA hardware, it would be funny/interesting to see the 3D version of Rayman 2 on the GBA.
I definitely like the Tomb Raider one and I like Mario 64 too, but that Tik Tok Clock level looks horrendous.Greengoop wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2025 6:16 pm Is it weird I genuinely find the Mario 64 on GBA to be aesthetically pleasing? Like it looks better than the DS and even N64 version imo
That's heavily conjectural.
Agh, I really want to write stories about that kind of stuff. Not enough time...TriangulumDelta wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 6:06 pm Sam the snake was hunted and killed by Razoff. What do you think happened to Ly and Clark after Rayman 2?
Well, the game says he did, so just because the rayman fanbase “doesn’t like it”, there’s no reason not to believe it.
Where does the game say so? As far as I'm aware, the wiki correctly summarizes the situation:Greengoop wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 6:42 pm Well, the game says he did, so just because the rayman fanbase “doesn’t like it”, there’s no reason not to believe it.
Razoff has several statues of Ssssam the snake in his mansion, showing that he has encountered, or at least knows of, the character. Michael Janod, one of the game's developers, revealed in a RaymanZone interview that Razoff's mansion contains "statues of his finest catches", hinting that the hunter may have captured Ssssam at some point. The watersnake's fate is however unknown.
Well if we can believe that, then can we believe in 100 years from Origins all the nymphs are killed off by the Dark Teensys and the Nightmares which is why you don't see them. All the mobile games happen in between the two.Greengoop wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 6:42 pm Well, the game says he did, so just because the rayman fanbase “doesn’t like it”, there’s no reason not to believe it.
