< thinks practice is a good helpful thing, though so is a good solder iron too.

< was soldering some wires and a 555 IC on a veroboard to make an astable circuit.
As for the equipment, the specifics elude <, but < recalls the soldering iron was a digital temperature controlled one.

< always did find that activity to be rather satisfying, though < tends to get the short end of the stick these days, what with the digital era and whatnot.
