< uses both PSE11 and GIMP because PSE11 in regards to PSE8 is a piece of crippleware shit that can't even do half of the functions PSE8 could... < misses 8.Adsolution wrote:< is curious whether ^ is referring to Photoshop/GIMP (which does ^ use again?) or Maya.
But < was referring to a program called Substance Painter, which imports your mesh and its UVs and allows you to paint onto the model in 3D, as if you were hand painting a physical model with paint and brush. It's fantastically awesome and works a charm when it doesn't decide to crash randomly, but it, er... decides to crash randomly from time to time. It has bad spells of crashing five times in half an hour, then lucky spots of not crashing within three hours. Very random. A bit unstable, still, but amazing at what it does.

< think it might be worthy of note to mention that Photoshop Extended gives ^ the feature to paint directly onto models as well, that way you don't have to transfer between programs. That's how Spanex textures all our models.Shrooblord wrote:< uses both PSE11 and GIMP because PSE11 in regards to PSE8 is a piece of crippleware shit that can't even do half of the functions PSE8 could... < misses 8.Adsolution wrote:< is curious whether ^ is referring to Photoshop/GIMP (which does ^ use again?) or Maya.

Sadly < uses Photoshop Elements, not Extended. But < was already wondering how texture artists usually operated outside of Substance Painter - < was imagining texture artists having some sort of superhuman 2D-to-3D imaginative spatial awareness shit that they trained years on to master. <'s glad to hear that's not the case and that they, in fact, 'cheat' like < does.

Indeed, you can first design roughly your textures, then deform it with PS's tools, then adapt the textures in consequence if it's not exactly fitting.Shrooblord wrote:Sadly < uses Photoshop Elements, not Extended. Photoshop works wonders for almost any kind of art, you just have to know how to use it appropriately. Some softwares can do better, but only for very specific purposes.

Well if ^ keeps eating them, ^ will eventually get used to them. That's the best advice < can give.Ambidextroid wrote:< likes sour a lot, but thought toxic waste and warheads where not very sour. They just make <'s palate bleed after eating more than 5 in one go...

< says you should write him a strongly worded letter telling him to please stop playing so much LoL for the sake of the network. Alternatively, if you are on speaking terms, speak at him with mouth-words telling him to please stop playing so much LoL for the sake of the network.

Worse, he’s actually video-calling on Skype at the same time!!
< should probably punish him by blocking the computer’s MAC address via the router.

If he isn't going to respect ^'s time, then just tell him that ^ is going to block his computer like so at set times. Either that, or he can work out a compromise with ^.

One problem: <’s bro might tell <’s parents about it, and <’s parents might not be very nice about it!

Re: The You Game!
Has ^ talked to ^'s parents about this? If not, < would suggest that ^ does so that they are aware his brother's behaviour is detrimental to the entire household. They might then aid ^.
