< was wondering which version Hunch played, < is aware of the Gens, though < hasn't actually played any incarnation of the Gen I games, come to think of it.

< Thinks Firered and Leafgreen are the best ways to experience Gen 1, while Blue, Red, and Yellow have kind of aged a bit meh-ish.

Pokémon Yellow, together with the first Super Mario Bros., was the first game on <'s GBC. Oh, and Rayman GBC.

Re: The You Game!
Pokemon Yellow was <'s first Pokemon game and < thinks it's still worth playing if you haven't. There's nothing really quite like it, although < agrees with Rayfist about Firered and Leafgreen being the best way to experience the 1st Gen.

<'s favorite Pokemon region is Hoenn because < loved the wild sense of adventure you got from exploring the huge open sea and being able to dive.

Re: The You Game!
< doesn't really like Pokemon. Too much repetition, too much walking around, too much time wasting mechanics that do nothing for the gameplay.
Bike at the beginning of the game, less useless side-quests like running around trying to get stuff to make Snorlax move (ARGH SO ANNOYING), less having to talk to every NPC to know what to do, varied battle mechanics instead of... selecting... boxes... snore...
It would make this game 10 times as good.
< prefers Mario, with more actual gameplay.
And when it comes to turn based strategy games, Advance Wars is where it's at.
